Gov. Tony Evers signs compensation bill for emergency responders

Gov. Tony Evers has signed a bipartisan bill that makes it easier for emergency responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder to file worker’s compensation claims. Right now, police and firefighters must show they’re suffering more emotional strain and stress than the day-to-day tensions they normally feel to claim compensation.

Barn, home fire near Janesville causes $500K in damages

A home and barn near Janesville are total losses following a fire Monday afternoon. A news release said the Janesville Fire Department was sent to 4829 W County Trunk A west of the city for a report of a barn/shed fire. The first units who arrived said the fire was “fully involved” and driven by the wind.

Boy who died in Milwaukee house fire could not escape due to locked door

A community is grieving the loss of a 10-year-old Milwaukee boy who died in a Friday night house fire. Loved ones say he died trying to save his dog. Man taken to hospital by Flight for Life after industrial accident in Saukville

McLaren 765LT Worth $360K Burns To Pile Of Ash In Fire At Pennsylvania Gas Station

Deaths of 3 New York firefighters spark mass cancer screening in city fire department

Firefighters didn’t worry about getting cancer when Tim Downes joined the Syracuse Fire Department in 1985. Historic landmark designation impacting Wisconsin fire department plans

14 people displaced by Madison apartment complex fire

A three-story apartment complex on Madison’s east side was evacuated early Monday morning as firefighters fought a blaze that had reached six of its units. According to the Madison Fire Dept., some of the residents of the building, in the 1600 block of Kings Mill Way, awoke shortly before 3:30 a.m. to find smoke filling their rooms.

Fire damages home west of Beloit

Orfordville Fire Officials are looking into the cause of an early morning blaze west of Beloit. Fire Chief Gene Wright says a Rock County sheriff’s deputy called in the fire about 3:00 a.m. at a home in the 6600 block of Highway 81. Texas fire chief calls fire at Lone Star Brewery ‘suspicious’; full investigation to follow

Three Colorado EMS agencies featured in YouTube promotional campaign for FirstNet

Food on the Stove to Test New App for Maryland Firefighters

But starting next month, the nonprofit will beta test a new app that will pave the way for a healthier lifestyle among firehouses in Prince George’s County and beyond. Black Saturday: One of the largest fires in New York history in photos

Nearly 60 years ago, 100 homes were destroyed, as three different fires simultaneously burned through multiple Staten Island neighborhoods. On April 20, 1963, also known as Black Saturday, a total of three large brush fires began in Rossville, Tottenville, and Mariners Harbor. In their wake, the fires caused more than $2 million of property damage and left over 500 people homeless.

Bearded dragon, chameleon, 2 tortoises rescued from house fire, Racine Fire Dept. reports

Two lizards and two tortoises were rescued from a house fire Sunday, the Racine Fire Department has reported. The fire was reported on the 2000 block of Jay Eye See Avenue. When Engine 5, the first of five four engines to arrive, arrived, heavy smoke and fire were immediately seen. The fire appeared to be mostly on the outside of the home and the crew from Engine 5 began fighting it from behind the home.

Holmen Fire discussing shared service agreement with La Crosse
