Henrico Firefighters are giving back to kids in the Highland Springs community with baseball. They hosted a clinic over the weekend as part of a new partnership to support the community they live in.
The firefighters stepped up to bat to teach new techniques to kids in the Highland Springs Little League.

In 2018 there were about 181,500 highway vehicle fires, according to the National Fire Protection Association. The vast majority of those were gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles. For whatever reason, we expect and accept that. But with EV fires it's different.
The National Traffic Safety Board addressed these EV fires in January with a report noting that there are two main safety issues.

No injuries were reported following a fire at Sheboygan’s Edgewater Power Plant Tuesday morning.
According to Sheboygan Fire Department, crews were called to the plant just before 11 a.m.
When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the plant’s dust-collector, and were met by members of the Edgewater Fire Brigade.

One of the private ambulance companies that help cover 911 calls is seeking an end to its agreement with the city.
Midwest Medical Transportation Company, which owns the private ambulance company Paratech, sent a letter to the Milwaukee Fire Chief stating its intent to terminate its 911 agreement with the city.

The La Crosse Fire Department says a Viterbo University student was arrested for intentionally starting a fire at a residence hall.
Fire officials say they were dispatched for a fire alarm at Marian Hall early Sunday morning. A garbage can was on fire on the second-floor lounge and had been put out with a fire extinguisher.

First responders from all over Green Country were some of the first people on scene at the Oklahoma City bombing 26 years ago.
"We watched it unfold and everybody is wanting to go help," said Tulsa Fire District Chief Pete Matlock.

Andrew Morgan, a firefighter at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity over the weekend.

It was a strange sight to see. Fire gutted a home in Tichigan early Monday, April 19.
A post on the Tichigan Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page says firefighters were dispatched to the home shortly before 3 a.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found the second floor engulfed in flames. Firefighters had the fire under control around 4 a.

A 24-unit apartment complex off the Beltline was evacuated Sunday because of high levels of carbon monoxide.
Madison fire officials said firefighters were dispatched to 213 West Beltline Highway just before 2 p.m. after MG&E detected elevated levels of the deadly gas while on a service call.
Firefighters confirmed carbon monoxide levels above 200 parts per million in the boiler room and levels in the high 80s ppm in some hallways.

VIDEO: Two people were killed Saturday night in a fiery crash involving a Tesla, according to Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman.
This happened at about 11:25 p.m. in the Carlton Woods Subdivision on Hammock Dunes Place.
Constable Herman said the 2019 Tesla Model S was traveling on a roadway and at some point, the vehicle, which deputies said was traveling at a high rate of speed, came to a slight curve.
