Fort Atkinson Fire Department rescues 2 people who fell into lake while ice fishing

The Fort Atkinson Fire Department rescued two people Thursday night after they fell into a frozen lake and one got trapped under the ice. Crews were dispatched around 8:45 for a report of two people who fell into Lake Koshkonong, one of whom was trapped under water. Crews arrived at the lake several minutes later, and one of the people had already made it out of the water to the shore.

Eau Claire fire chief announces retirement

After decades with the Eau Claire Fire Department, Chief Chris Bell has announced his retirement. According to a press release on Friday, Chief Bell's last day with the battalion will be April 30, 2023. Bell rose through the ranks during his 26 years with the department. He started his career in 1995 as a volunteer with the fire department then in 1997 he joined the department full time.

Madison fire crews contain gas leak after crash damages gas line, meters

Madison fire crews contained a gas leak Wednesday after a gas line and meters were damaged in a crash, officials said. Crews were called to an apartment in the 4300 block of Britta Drive just before 8:14 p.m. on Wednesday after a vehicle struck a building. A gas line and four natural gas meters were damaged in the crash.

Burlington chemical spill in Burlington; hazmat team called

A chemical spill involving a 500-gallon tank in Burlington caused the Racine County Hazmat Team to respond to Lavelle Industries on Wednesday, March 1. Authorities responded to a report of a hazmat spill with a chemical reaction involving a dip tank around 12:10 p.m. According to the City of Burlington Fire Department, Lavelle Industries employees were evacuated, and everyone was accounted for.

Fire aboard Spirit Airlines plane causes emergency landing in Florida, sends 10 to hospital

Wyoming college students bring vintage fire engine back to life for good cause

After serving a fire department in Greeley, Colorado, it was sold off to a tiny mountain enclave and then again to the Frontier Refinery operation in Cheyenne. New York firefighter and 9/11 first responder to hike Appalachian Trail to raise money, awareness for PTSD

Green Bay firefighters, police team up to rescue baby owls that fell from tree

Working smoke detector helps quick response to Menasha fire

A smoke detector alerted people in a duplex in Menasha to a fire Wednesday afternoon. Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue says it was on the scene on the 200 block of Kaukauna St. within 4 minutes of the call and found smoke coming from the two-story building. People who had been in the duplex told firefighters everyone made it out.

Eau Claire Fire Department, Chippewa Falls Police and Fire Departments still hiring after referendum

It’s been 1 year since devastating house explosion in Missouri

They managed to get out before an explosion across the street completely destroyed their home. Medics housed at Texas airport for faster response times

Massachusetts Town Could Train Police Officers as Volunteer Firefighters

Chilton breaks ground on new $2.75M fire station

It’s been several years in the making, but the City of Chilton finally secured enough financing to build a new fire station for its crews. City officials and firefighters from the Chilton Fire Department held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday to signify the start of construction. According to Chilton Mayor Tom Reinl, the current fire station has been around since 1935, making an upgrade a necessity.
