Pre-hospital trauma care for patients in Kerr County took a giant step this week as the Kerrville EMS, the city and county’s provider, rolled out a new program that will provide the option of whole blood infusions by paramedics to critical patients before they are transported to the hospital.
“We are excited about this program that has been in the works since last year, but a goal for the past three years,” said Kerrville Fire Chief Eric Maloney late last week.

A teenage boy died over the weekend after striking a tree while skiing in Sauk Co., authorities confirmed.

A brush fire Tuesday night near the railroad tracks in Menomonee Falls lit up the sky around sunset.
The fire started near Marcy Road just to the north of Silver Spring Drive. Crews had most of the fire knocked down early this evening.

Racine County Sheriff’s Office deputies saved a man and a dog who were stranded in icy water over the weekend.
Deputies and members of Raymond Fire and Rescue arrived at a residence on Three Mile Road in the Village of Raymond on Sunday after a report that a 58-year-old man had fallen through the ice on a large pond, according to a news release from the RCSO.
