Fire extinguished at Fiesta Cancun restaurant in Oconomowoc

Western Lakes Fire District responded to a fire at a well-known restaurant early on Friday. The District was dispatched shortly after 3 a.m. for a fire at Fiesta Cancun, according to WLFD. While responding Oconomowoc Police Department officers arrived on the scene and reported heavy black smoke coming from the rear of the building.

Fatal crash in Fon Du Lac County

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of Wisconsin State Patrol are working the scene of a jackknifed semi on I-41 south of County Highway N. Shortly after 4 AM the semi lost control and jackknifed and a car that was following the semi was unable to stop and drove under it. Reports from the scene are that the passenger of the vehicle is injured and the driver was trapped in the vehicle.

GoPro video shows Virginia house fire through the eyes of a firefighter

VIDEO/PHOTOS: We have some new video from a house fire in Bedford County on Tuesday night. This GoPro footage shows the fire that happened on Twilight Drive through the eyes of one of the firefighters at the Forest Fire Department. One man was inside the home at the time but got out safely. The home is a total loss and the fire damaged some nearby cars on the property too.

California firefighters rescue residents trapped in San Bernardino mountain snow

'Suck it up, buttercup': Ohio first responders push back against mental health stigma

VIDEO: An average person can see two or three traumatic incidents in their life, while first responders can see more than 180, according to First H.E.L.P., a national organization that works to reduce mental health stigma among first responders. House fire in Green Bay displaces two people and a dog, causes extensive damage

Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the second floor of a two-family home when firefighters arrived in the afternoon of March 8, 2023. The structure is located on the 700 block of Irvington Street. It took firefighters approximately ten minutes to extinguish the flames, according to a statement issued by the Green Bay Metro Fire Department.

Cause of massive brush fire in Menomonee Falls still under investigation

We are getting a closer look at the aftermath of a fiery blaze that ignited in Menomonee Falls. 15-acres of brush set fire right next to a rail line near Marcy and Mill Roads, causing thousands of customers to lose power, and neighbors to worry the fire might spread to their homes. New UTV For Superior Fire Department

The Superior Fire Department took time Friday morning to show off a new piece of equipment, a UTV that’s better known as the Polaris Ranger. Thanks to a $30,000 grant from Cenovus Superior Refinery and another $20,000 from the city. This new vehicle actually replaces 2 vehicles the department uses now, a snowmobile and a smaller UTV.

PHOTOS: Crews from St. Clair County are fighting a massive fire at multiple structures on St. Clair's Harsens Island on Wednesday. SkyFOX was overhead metro Detroit covering other stories when they spotted a massive plume of black smoke billowing up from Lake St. Clair. As they flew east, the picture grew clearer as several structures appeared to be burning.

Virginia lawmakers mandate electric vehicle fire risk training

Virginia firefighters will be required to complete a training program starting next year, about the risk of electric vehicle fires. Del. Israel O’Quinn, R-Washington, proposed House Bill 2451 to require the executive director of the Virginia Department of Fire Programs to develop a training program for electric vehicle fires.

FDNY couple trains for New York City Half Marathon

Davon Howard is a firefighter at Ladder 162/Engine 304 in Queens Village; his wife, Natasha Howard, is an EMS Lieutenant at EMS Station 57 in Bed-Stuy. The pair met at the EMS Academy in 2007. “Honestly, I didn’t really notice him, but I noticed he kept coming around and one day, we exchanged numbers and we went on a date and that was it,” Natasha said.

North Tahoe Fire Protection District reports increase in gas leaks caused by snowstorms in California

The North Tahoe Fire Protection District reported an alarming increase in gas leaks, carbon monoxide (CO) related emergencies and other hazard-related emergencies resulting from the repeated storms and heavy snow. Since January 1, hazard calls have accounted for nearly 20% of non-EMS incidents. North Tahoe Firefighters are responding to a significant increase in carbon monoxide emergencies throughout the region and authorities say many of these incidents are the result of heavy snow build-up on combustion-appliance venting, buried foundation vents and improper or snow-obstructed home generator ventilation systems.

Texas county EMS to offer whole blood infusions by paramedics to critical patients

Pre-hospital trauma care for patients in Kerr County took a giant step this week as the Kerrville EMS, the city and county’s provider, rolled out a new program that will provide the option of whole blood infusions by paramedics to critical patients before they are transported to the hospital. “We are excited about this program that has been in the works since last year, but a goal for the past three years,” said Kerrville Fire Chief Eric Maloney late last week.

Lake Country Fire funding crisis 'risking the people we protect'

13-year-old skier dies after striking tree on Sauk County slope
