North Dakota fire department's haunted house returns with chills and thrills

If you take a wrong turn here this weekend, you could end up lost in a haunted corn maze, or worse - you could be chased by one of the creepy characters that lurk in the dark. The Belfield Volunteer Fire Department is putting on its yearly haunted house fundraiser on Main Street. “There's maybe one or two things that are the same, but everything else is completely different than it was last year,” Ashley Gross, volunteer firefighter said.

Green Bay Metro Fire Department tests out electric fire truck

VIDEO: You’ve probably noticed more electric cars on our roads in recent years. Now, fire trucks are joining the EV action. The Green Bay Metro Fire Dept. says it’s considering buying one. Tuesday, firefighters took a test drive in a truck they could be taking to calls in the near future. The Vector fire truck is entirely electric and much quieter; there’s no diesel fumes or loud engines.

Public gets up-close look at Beaver Dam fire training tower

Bed sheets used for massages spontaneously combust, Madison Fire says

VIDEO: Bed sheets were about to catch fire on their own early Saturday morning just as firefighters arrived at a Madison business, according to the fire department. The bundle of sheets had started spontaneously combusting around 2:15 a.m. when firefighters responded to an active alarm at the business, in the 600 block of Grand Canyon Drive, the fire department said in a statement.

Rice Lake Fire Department pursuing purchase of second ambulance

Today marks one year since the massive fire on Morton Avenue tore through a warehouse in the early morning of October 17, 2022. That fire burned across the block the entire morning, and smoldered for the next few days. Pine Lake Fire Department receives new AED

The Pine Lake Fire Department received some new equipment earlier this week. Thanks to two grants worth up to $3,000 they were able to receive a new AED. The grants were from the Wisconsin Public Service and Mutual of Wausau Insurance Corporation. Fire Chief Brian Gehrig says it's crucial for their department to have up-to date equipment.

Milkwaukee Fire Department Reopening Station At 13th and Layton

Milwaukee will have a new fire station in 2024. Fire Chief Aaron Lipski announced late Friday afternoon that he intends to reopen Engine 17 at 4653 S. 13th St. The announcement comes as the city debates its 2024 budget. Howard Fire Department receives $1.2M federal grant

The Howard Fire Department received a federal grant for more than $1,000,000. Chief Dennis Staeven says the grant will allow the department to hire more first responders. “It’s for a little over $1.2 million,” said Staeven. “That grant is going to be used to fund four firefighter positions for a period of the next three years starting in November of this year.

Teenager accused of threatening Pennsylvania EMS workers with 9mm gun
