A person was found dead inside a burning enclosed porch at a home on 14th Avenue early Tuesday. The Kenosha Police and the Kenosha Fire Department are investigating the fire, which was reported at about 5 a.m. Tuesday. Baltimore’s revived speed camera system is generating millions more in revenue than what was planned — and city officials now intend to use that money to balance the Fire Department’s budget.
The Board of Estimates, which is controlled by Mayor Catherine Pugh, is slated to vote Wednesday to use an extra $4 million generated by speed camera fines — on top of the $8 million in budgeted revenue from them — to help pay unfunded overtime expenses in the Fire Department.

The Beloit Fire Department said firefighter DeCarlos Nora helped rescue a group of ducklings that were stuck in a storm drain Friday. A house is considered a total loss after a fire broke out just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at 1367 County Road XC, according to Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Chief Curt Vandertie.

VIDEO: The Madison Fire Department's Heavy Urban Response Team (HURT) was one of the 35 crews that responded to the explosion at Didion Milling in Cambria one year ago. HURT is a team of about 60 firefighters that are trained to rescue people in some of the most challenging situations. HURT Instructor Lieutenant Rick Mulhern said the team was formed following the 9/11 attacks, when federal money was allocated for teams trained to respond to emergencies like building collapses.
