Ohio fire stations add sensory bags for patients with autism

The Clearcreek Township Fire Department has added sensory bags to help firefighters and paramedics when they respond to a scene involving someone on the autism spectrum. Firefighter and paramedic Eric Henry was the brainchild behind the department's new addition and did research into what items would help first responders to calm a child or adult with autism.

Potential site identified for new South Side fire station in La Crosse

Menomonee Falls Police and Fire Commission will use executive search firm to find new fire chief

The Menomonee Falls Police and Fire Commission has taken the first step toward hiring a fire chief, agreeing Nov. 11 to use an executive search firm to conduct the search. Commissioners will choose one of two regional search firms: Public Administration Associates LLC of Osh Kosh or GovHRUSA of Northbrook, Illinois.

Follow Up: MPD seeks man wanted in shooting that wounded off-duty firefighter: ‘It shouldn’t happen’

Milwaukee police released new information on Tuesday, Nov. 12 about the 25-year-old man sought in connection with the shooting of an off-duty firefighter near 105th Street and Cameron Avenue on Monday. The shooter was described as black, standing between 5'9" and 5'11" tall, with light skin. Officials said he was wearing a ski mask.

Off-duty Milwaukee firefighter shot in attempted armed robbery

An off-duty Milwaukee firefighter was shot at a home near North 105th Street and West Cameron Avenue around 5:35 p.m. Monday. The 35-year-old firefighter was shot in the thigh, and is expected to be okay. Police have not confirmed what led to the shooting. Sources said the suspect was trying to steal the victim's car at the time of the shooting.

Madison's fire chief: City falls short in prompt ambulance response, needs ninth ambulance

Fire damages vacant building near Appleton and Burleigh in Milwaukee

Bangor family displaced after home destroyed in early morning fire

A family was able to evacuate their Bangor home Saturday morning after they were alerted by a smoke detector to a fire. The incident happened at a home on Wolf Road. Horicon: Home in Dodge County catches fire, everyone gets out safe

Florida firefighters create tribute to America's veterans; Fire engine transformed into artistic canvas to honor vets
