Wild Dunes expansion project concerns South Carolina Professional Fire Fighters Association

A Wild Dunes Resort expansion project is worrying South Carolina Fire Fighter advocates. A new hotel is being built with 153 rooms, as well as meeting and event spaces. The Professional Fire Fighters Association of South Carolina said doesn’t believe the Isle of Palms fire department has enough staffing to respond to a building of this size.

At just 11 years old, Zechariah Cartledge runs a mile for every first responder who loses their life in the line of service. Since January, he's run 283 miles. Iowa: Report on 2018 UNI steam tunnel death raises questions about Cedar Falls fire response

Mobile fire safety house in Pennsylvania designed to prepare kids for fire dangers

York City firefighters have a new tool to teach children about the dangers of fires, how to prevent them and ways to escape a burning home. The city's fire safety house is a haulable trailer that's been turned into a mobile classroom, with bleachers for kids to sit on, mock rooms including a kitchen, bedroom and living area, a window so children can practice climbing to safety and more, according to Lisa Altland.

Live-fire training absolutely crucial for Stevens Point firefighters

Bellevue Fire and Rescue to be staffed 24/7 in 2020

Madison fire chief credited with help saving neighbor during heart attack

Union says long-term plan needed to retain new Atlantic City firefighters hired with grant money

City, Albuquerque Ambulance locked in dispute over transport authority

“Level Zero” is the phrase at the heart of a legal fight between Albuquerque Fire and Rescue and privately owned Albuquerque Ambulance Service over the city’s proposed expansion of its authority to have AFR rescue units transport patients to the hospital. In most cases, AFR rescue units stabilize patients on scene and Albuquerque Ambulance then takes them to the emergency room – allowing the Fire and Rescue units to return to service for new 911 calls.

Arizona: Family honors late firefighter with a memorial in the sky

VIDEO: It was a beautiful memorial for Goodyear firefighter engineer Austin Peck, who died in August. Some of Peck's family skydived to remember him, and they say it was a healing moment as they released his ashes into the skies. "I'm sure he would have loved it. Green Bay: Firefighters honored for the first time after dying in the line of duty from cancer

Four fallen Green Bay Metro firefighters were honored Sunday. It was the first time they were recognized locally, after dying in the line of duty from occupational cancer. “Time does not diminish the significance of the loss; in particular with these four being cancer. This is a lesson learned,” said Lieutenant David Siegel with the Green Bay Fire Department.

Update: Union Grove-Yorkville firefighter dies after suffering on-call heart attack

The Union Grove-Yorkville Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their firefighters. The department sharing on Facebook that Brian Serdynski passed away Saturday morning. He had been a member of the department for five years and participated in various local events. The Racine Journal Times first reported Serdynski suffered a heart attack during an emergency call back on October 19.

One dead after structure fire in Mauston

A structure fire in Mauston on Saturday morning killed one person, according to a news release. At roughly 5 a.m., fire officials responded to a structure fire on Prairie Street, according to the release. Officials said firefighters were able to contain the blaze. The release said one man was found dead inside the structure.

Sun Prairie firefighter's widow says post office named for him is amazing

A building in Sun Prairie will soon bear the name of the city's fallen hero. President Donald Trump signed a bill Thursday to name the post office in honor of fire Capt. Cory Barr. Trump signs bill renaming Sun Prairie post office for Fire Cpt. Cory Barr

President Donald Trump has signed a bill renaming the Sun Prairie post office after a firefighter killed in an explosion last year. U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s office says Trump signed the bill Thursday renaming the post office after Cory Barr. He was killed in a natural gas explosion in downtown Sun Prairie in July 2018.
