Dad, 2 kids escape large Portage house fire

Oshkosh firefighters, police to face off in charity hockey, basketball games

Public servants will square off in two upcoming charity events, pitting law enforcement against firefighters in the name of raising money for good causes. Oshkosh firefighters and police officers will compete in a charity hockey game 3 p.m. Saturday at the Oshkosh Community YMCA, 3303 W. 20th Ave. Guns ‘N Hoses is an annual hockey game that pits the city's firefighters and police officers against each other in some friendly competition to raise money for a local charity.

Volunteer firefighters to see training tweaks in Georgia Senate bill

Wausau fire officials look to purchase new engines

After rabies scare, Wind Lake Fire Department still dealing with medical bills

The Wind Lake Volunteer Fire Company incurred a large expense for medical bills in 2018 when emergency responders encountered what they thought may have been a victim with rabies. Two and half years later, they are nearing a final decision on how to pay those bills relating to rabies vaccines. Illinois: One decade later, the legacy of fallen Homewood firefighter is better training for emergency response

Bill Aims to Compensate Wyoming First Responders for 'Mental Injuries'

Cleveland council members concerned, no minorities in city fire cadet class

Some Cleveland city council members expressed their disappoint and concern after they said they learned there weren't any minority candidates in the upcoming city fire department cadet class. Councilwoman Phyllis Cleveland told News 5 the current fire class applicants are made up of 42 white male candidates and no minorities, which is a violation of city guidelines, which require at least one out of every 10 candidates be a minority.

Milton Fire Department faces volunteer firefighter shortage

Oconto fire department installing free smoke detectors

If it’s been a decade since you put new smoke detectors in your home, it’s time to get them replaced. Fortunately, Oconto Fire and Rescue Department has some that local homeowners can not only get, but installed as well, for free. The department received 60 smoke alarms from the American Red Cross, which partners with local fire departments and agencies to provide the devices.

Ashland man rescued from second story of burning house

A man was rescued from the second story of a burning home Saturday, Feb. 22, in Ashland. The Ashland Fire Department responded to a fire at 3:35 p.m. where male was reportedly trapped on the second floor, the department said on Facebook. Crews managed to reach the second floor with a ladder and rescue the man.
