Fire officials say two people have been displaced following a residential fire late Tuesday morning.
According to Fire Chief Jake Flaherty, crews were called to a home on Maine Ave. shortly after 11:30 a.m., and were on the scene for about four hours.
Flaherty says a man home at the time was able to safely escape, and his girlfriend wasn't home at the time of the incident.

A home at 5370 Clarices Circle is a complete loss after a fire Tuesday.
The fire started shortly after 10 a.m. in the garage and spread to the house, said Hull Fire Chief Ken Sadogierski. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but Sadogierski said there were several explosions that they believe were from propane tanks or ammunition.

A Monday night fire caused $150,000 damage to The Metro event center, 201 E. Lake St.
The Metro is the former home of the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley.
Smoke was coming from the two-story building when firefighters were called to the business at 10:06 p.m., according to Joe Kelly, batallion chief of the Eau Claire Fire Department.

An employee was able to put out a small fire at a business in Stratford Monday afternoon.
The Stratford Area Fire Department received a call for a fire at the Pro Vision Co-Op Tire Shop shortly after 2 p.m. The fire was reportedly in the walls and when crews arrived on scene they made sure the fire hadn't spread.

New Orleans firefighters claim current staffing shortages threaten their ability to put out fires in the city on a timely basis.
"When it comes down to the actual manpower on the streets, we're at critical mass now," Firefighters Union President Aaron Mischler said.
According to the Mischler, his members will no longer work excessive overtime to cover for a city administration and department that can't attract or retain employees.

Researchers at Washington University have found that paramedics and emergency medical technicians are seven times as likely as the general public to have thought about suicide in the past year.
Five emergency medicine doctors surveyed more than 900 paramedics in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Iowa over three months in 2017.

Camden city officials, union officials and its fire department will send a set of proposals to the state Civil Service Commission that they hope will, once approved, avert the need to lay off any front-line firefighters.

The Grand Chute Fire Department says a machine at a business caught fire late Sunday night.
A caller reported flames and heavy smoke coming from an overhead door on the front of a building on the 500-block of N. Bluemound Dr. just before midnight.
Fire crews from Grand Chute, Appleton and Fox Crossing responded and quickly extinguished the fire on a large CNC machine.

Fire officials say no one was home when a fire broke out on the 1400 block of S. Locust St. late Monday morning.
According to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, crews were called to the home shortly before 11 a.m.
When they arrived, officials say smoke was coming from the eaves and roof, and flames were coming from a basement window in the back of the home.

A 2-day old infant's life was likely saved thanks to the actions of a deputy and firefighters, authorities said Monday.
Kenosha County Deputies and Salem Fire Department responded to a home on the 6600 block of 236th Avenue on Sunday for reports of a baby not breathing. A 2-day old infant was reportedly not conscious, not breathing and turning blue, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.

Clintonville Police say one person is dead following a structure fire near Clintonville Middle School early Monday morning.
Officials say crews were dispatched at 2:14 a.m. for a possible fire. Police say there was a language barrier with the caller that made it difficult to obtain information or location.

"It's not unusual to have an overdose every day," says the Rockford Fire Department's Mobile Integrated Healthcare manager Shannon Kopp. "We're seeing it a lot."

New York City lost two more of its bravest to 9/11-related illnesses.
Retired firefighters Paul Deo, Jr. and Richard Jones both died Friday, joining hundreds of other first responders who succumbed to diseases contracted at Ground Zero in the days and weeks after the Twin Towers fell.

Firefighters are known for being there to help in an emergency, but who’s there when firefighters need help? It’s a question one Milwaukee firefighter named Joe Flick has asked himself a lot. It inspired him to launch an organization called Ignite the Spirit Milwaukee.

An ambulance carrying a patient was involved in a crash on Milwaukee's north side.
Firefighters say it happened at 6th and North shortly before 9:00 p.m. Friday.
The fire department says it is a private ambulance.
Two paramedics inside and a patient were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

Members of the Milwaukee Fire Department paid their respects to one of their own.
Darrin Jones, 53, served nearly three decades on the department. He died unexpectedly on Feb. 1.
Friday, a procession of fire trucks escorted his casket to the Krause Funeral Home for the visitation.
“Everybody’s missing Darrin,” said Brent Jones, Lieutenant with MFD.
