Madison Fire Department receives national recognition for cardiac arrest survival rates, education

PHOTOS: The Madison Fire Department announced on Tuesday that it received national recognition for their work in improving outcomes for patients who experience sudden cardiac arrest. The ‘Heart Safe Community’ award is only given to two fire departments in the United States by the IAFC and the PulsePoint Foundation.

A tornado touched down Tuesday in Adams County, Iowa, toppling several wind turbines and leaving behind a trail of damage. The tornado touched down just northwest of Prescott around 3 p.m. Tuesday as a line of severe storms pushed into the state. KCCI's Zane Satre witnessed the storms touching down first-hand.

One California county offering free skin cancer screenings to current and retired firefighters

Close calls with drivers are on the rise, Connecticut firefighters say

Home Depot paying $1.3M for fire code violations in 2022 arson that destroyed California store

Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen's office announced the fine against the hardware giant Monday, which followed an investigation by the DA's office and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives into the 2022 fire that destroyed the store on Blossom Hill Road.

Double-parked cars increasingly impede DC Fire and EMS responses, officials say

Smoke detectors alert owner to house fire in Rock County

Working smoke detectors alerted the owner of a house in the Town of Union to a fire, according to Mason Barber, Brooklyn Fire and EMS operations chief. Firefighters were called to 16547 West Holt Road, near Brooklyn at about 5:30 a.m. Monday. The property owner reported the fire and said there were visible flames.

Four pets killed, home total loss in Town of Buffalo fire

PHOTO: A fire in the Town of Buffalo Saturday left four pets dead and the home a total loss. According to a press release from the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, they received two 911 calls at 4:51 p.m. Saturday for a fully engulfed home on Brandhorst Road in Buffalo. One of the callers was a neighbor, and said they could not contact anyone inside or outside of the home.
