A tornado touched down Tuesday in Adams County, Iowa, toppling several wind turbines and leaving behind a trail of damage. Working smoke detectors alerted the owner of a house in the Town of Union to a fire, according to Mason Barber, Brooklyn Fire and EMS operations chief. Firefighters were called to 16547 West Holt Road, near Brooklyn at about 5:30 a.m. Monday. The property owner reported the fire and said there were visible flames.

A tank battery caught fire near Bethany on Sunday night, causing massive flames in the area.
