Egg Harbor firefighters to reorganize

The Egg Harbor Fire Department will have to reorganize as a non-profit organization if it wants to continue fundraising to help pay for their operations. Attorney Randy Nesbitt notified Egg Harbor Fire Chief Andy Staats on Monday that the Egg Harbor Firefighters, Inc. had its corporation administratively dissolved by the State of Wisconsin back on May 29th, 2017.

After three deadly weekend fires, officials share reminders on staying prepared and safe

Five people died this weekend after three fatal fires Saturday, Jan. 23, in Wisconsin. They were in Fort Atkinson, Grant County and Washington County. Five people died, and three of the victims were children. “It’s unfortunate that somebody does lose their life in these fires but we have to make sure that their deaths aren’t in vain," West Bend Fire Captain of Fire Safety Kenny Asselin said.

Update: Grant County fire victims identified

A Grant county family has lost another child after a house fire over the weekend. With the death of 14-year-old Barbara Hurley, the house fire in Blue River is now the deadliest in Grant county, in Sheriff Nate Dreckman's memory. "I don't know if we've ever had this many, we've had a few over the years that I've been here but not with three," he said.

Video shows moment New York firefighter knocked unconscious from falling AC unit

An FDNY firefighter was knocked unconscious when an air conditioner fell from a window and struck him in the head while he was battling a Brooklyn blaze on Monday morning, sources said. The shocking incident took place outside a home in Bensonhurst and sent the smoke eater from Ladder 172 to the hospital where he was in serious condition, according to FDNY sources.

Washington state provides $750K for new ‘floating fire engine’ for South King Fire

After 36 years of service, a new Maritime Emergency Response Vessel is in the works with the help of a $750,000 allocation from Washington state. Last week, South King Fire and Rescue announced the department received the final contract appropriating $750,000 from the 2020 Washington state operating budget to pay for a major portion of the new fire rescue boat.

Neptune ambulances cleaned of COVID in minutes; first in New Jersey with new disinfecting system

Second vaccine shots postponed for Delaware first responders

Driver rescued from Wisconsin River by Merrill Fire Department

The Merrill Fire Department said a driver was rescued after crashing their vehicle onto the ice of Wisconsin River Monday morning. Around 8:30 a.m., the Merrill Fire Department responded to the crash on the Wisconsin River near the 2000 block of W. Main Street in Merrill. Merrill Fire Chief Josh Klug said Lincoln County Dispatchers were able to keep the driver calm and advised him to not move around in the vehicle.

1 killed after fire truck in Colorado collides with sedan

Fire department major in Oklahoma faces punishment after driving burn patient to the hospital due to ambulance delay

Garage, equipment at home of Maine contractor burns, estimated $1M loss

One person in hospital after La Crosse bluff rescue

One person is in the hospital after La Crosse emergency crews rescued the person near Grandad Bluff. The incident happened around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Green Bay firefighters respond to garage fire

Vaccine clinics create 'emergency call' lists when they have leftover COVID-19 doses

Superior Fire Department Receives Donation for Ice Rescue Suits

With a generous gift from Husky Energy, the Superior Fire Department is now equipped with four brand new ice rescue suits. Husky Refinery had reached out to the fire department at the end of last year, asking about making a donation to help out with some winter gear. The refinery gave $2,500 for the new suits, which will replace the previous ones that had begun showing their age including some that leaked.

Massive fire at Washington state potato plant leads to evacuation of third of town
