Fifteen families have been affected by a Beaver Dam apartment fire Thursday night.
Dodge County dispatchers received multiple reports of a structure fire on 108 Lakecrest Drive at about 6:20 p.m., according to a news release. The residence was a two-story apartment building with 16 units.
Police first arrived to help evacuate tenants and prevent anyone from re-entering.

One person is dead and another was injured following a fire Thursday morning, Jan. 28 at the Burnham Hill Apartments -- located near 29th and Mitchell in Milwaukee. The fire broke out just after midnight.
The fire started on the third floor in a single apartment. A 72-year-old man from Milwaukee was found deceased inside the unit where the fire originated.

Aresidential home was severely damaged but nobody was injured after a fire on Hwy. 27 north of Sparta Tuesday.
According to Sparta Area Fire District chief Mike Arnold, a child who lives at the residence returned from school shortly after 4 p.m. and saw the home full of smoke. She got two dogs out of the home and called her father, who called 911.

A family of four escaped a fire at home thanks to a working smoke alarm on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
The Racine Fire Department responded to a reported stove fire in the 1600 block of Prospect Street shortly before 1:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, fire crews noticed light smoke showing from a second floor window and were directed to a fire located in the kitchen.

The Milwaukee Fire Department Administration Building downtown will bear the name of Alonzo Robinson, the first Black architect in the city and state, under a resolution a committee of the Common Council approved Wednesday.

A fiery crash between a pickup truck and an antique Chevrolet was captured on camera on Sunday near Atlantic City, New Jersey.
According to Galloway Township police, a Ford F-150 pickup truck hit the back of a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air about 8 p.m.
Footage from multiple security cameras and broadcast on NBC News Philadelphia showed the antique vehicle burst into flames.

A piece of Sheridan history will soon return home.
According to Sheridan Fire-Rescue Chief Gary Harnish, a 1919 American LaFrance Fire Engine used by the city more than a century ago has been located more than 2,000 miles away in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Even better, the Surfside Beach Fire Department is dedicated to helping the fire engine return home, and Harnish said he is excited for the engine to become part of the Sheridan community again.

On Millers Bay Tuesday afternoon, Oshkosh firefighters are prepared for a call they never want to get.
“This is one of those low volume calls, but it’s very high risk,” Public Information Officer John Holland told Local 5. “So for us, the more training we do, the better.”
