Boat fire on Pewaukee Lake, 2 on board

Two people were on board amid a massive boat fire on Pewaukee Lake Saturday, June 5. Firefighters had to use a boat launch to get out to the fire, and they could see the smoke all the way from the firehouse. As the thick, dark smoke billowed out from a boat on Pewaukee Lake, one of the firefighters out on the water was Captain Stephen Schultz.

Wisconsin father sets new pushup world record to raise money for family of fallen first responders

A Wisconsin father of three accomplished one of his greatest goals – completing 1,500,231 push-ups to set a new world record for most push-ups done in a year. The best part though? It was all to raise money for the families of fallen first responders. Nate Carroll on the 50-yard line of MetLife Stadium in New Jersey broke the record in front of first responders during half-time of the 48th Annual Fun City Bowl, an annual showdown between the New York’s fire and police football teams.

Firefighters Battle Explosive Building Fire in Downtown Los Angeles

VIDEO: Over 100 firefighters are battling an explosive fire in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday morning. The fire broke out at a three-story building in the 200 block of S. Los Angeles Street, near 3rd Street shortly before 2 a.m. Los Angeles Fire Department says it has declared it a "major emergency" fire, and 150 firefighters are "still in an active firefight.

3 injured after ambulance flips on its side in South Carolina

PHOTOS: A Horry County Fire Rescue ambulance flipped on its side after a crash in Myrtle Beach Monday afternoon, according to Master Cpl. Thomas Vest with the Myrtle Beach Police Dept. At 12:43 p.m., police said the northbound lanes of Robert M. Grissom Parkway and the westbound lanes of Mr. Joe White Avenue were closed to traffic.

Wisconsin man surpasses world pushup record to support first responders

A Wisconsin man appears to have broken the world record for most pushups in a year in his effort to raise money for the families of fallen first responders. Nate Carroll, of Winneconne, completed his 1,500,231st pushup Sunday at the 50-yard line during halftime of the 48th annual Fun City Bowl, a football game between New York City first responders at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Colorado town's first motorized fire truck restored to its former glory

The 110-year-old vehicle has helped out in some of the city's most significant emergencies, like the Great Flood of 1921 and the opera house fire of 1922.

3 firefighters hurt while battling blaze in Valders woods

Three firefighters were treated for injuries while fighting a fire in some woods in Valders. Valders Fire and Rescue says the firefighters suffered “heat-related” injuries. They were treated at the scene. Crews were called to 12528 Rusch Road for a fire about 600 feet off the road. They called for mutual aid.

Six crews respond to La Crosse house fire

The La Crosse Fire Department worked to put out a house fire Sunday in La Crosse. Around 4 pm this afternoon 6 fire crews responded to 620 Car Street within about two minutes of being dispatched. Residents of the house were able to escape without injury before crews arrived and were trying to put the fire with a garden hose.

Massive recycling yard fire in Arizona triggers 'largest response' in fire department's history

New tech helps California firefighters navigate through burning buildings faster, safer

Firefighters with the Menlo Park Fire Protection District have new technology that helps them navigate through burning buildings and find people twice as fast, according to the Fire Chief. The technology is called the C-Thru platform. It includes a navigation unit that attaches to the firefighter's helmet and allows them to clearly see objects in a burning building.

Man strikes windshield of Florida rescue truck with bat

VIDEO: A man was taken away in handcuffs after getting into a dangerous altercation with a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crew, and it was all caught on camera. The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Southwest Eighth Street and 42nd Avenue. Cellphone video shows a man dressed all in white striking the front windshield of a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue truck with a baseball bat, cracking the glass.

Young brothers raise money at lemonade stand to rent food truck for Ohio first responders

Gideon and Josiah Trank, ages eight and seven, have raised hundreds of dollars for first responders with their front yard lemonade stand. Officials: Woman dead after West Allis house fire

The West Allis Fire Department said a woman is dead after a fire broke out in a home near 56th and Rogers around 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 6. Fire officials say the fire started in a second floor bedroom. A woman become disoriented by smoke and became trapped in the home. She ultimately died, officials say.

Red Cross assisting 7 following Fond du Lac duplex fire

Fire officials say the Red Cross is helping seven people following a duplex fire in Fond du Lac late Saturday night. According to the Fond du Lac Fire Department, crews were called to a home on the 300 block of W. Division Street at 11:16 p.m. for a report of a fire on the upper level porch leading to the entrance of an upper unit of a two family residential duplex.

New Berlin dump truck fire, diesel leak at Kwik Trip

A dump truck caught fire at a New Berlin Kwik Trip on Friday night, June 4. Fire units arrived at the fully-involved vehicle around 5:45 p.m. The driver was inside when the fire started, New Berlin fire officials said, but no injuries were reported to anyone involved. During an investigation, crews found that the truck's file tank was leaking diesel and runoff made its way into the drainage system.

Portage Fire Department promotes from within

New leadership roles have been filled at the Portage Fire Department. The roles have always been available, but new fire chief Troy Haase filled the position to give the engineers more leadership opportunities. “It is not going to change much within the department at first. It is a chance to switch from task-oriented work to more individual responsibilities,” Haase said.

Hales Corners apartment fire: 1 building a total loss, no injuries

Baltimore City Fire Department names its first LGBTQIA+ liaison

VIDEO: The Baltimore City Fire Department, in an effort to increase diversity and equity within the agency, named its first LGBTQIA+ liaison, and some in the community are applauding the move. Baltimore City Fire Department paramedic Kyle Lovell is the department's first LGBTQIA+ liaison. He's a five-year-veteran of the department and a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Tragic Michigan Fire Leads to Iconic Wedding Photo & Happy Ending

It was a sad and hard thing to see this past weekend when pictures emerged from a fire on Mackinac Island at the 120-year-old Brigadoon Cottage. The Memorial Day weekend fire to the historic location caused damage to the structure estimated to be close to $1 million. Thankfully there were no injuries, and as they say, things can be repaired and replaced, but people can't.
