The Germantown Fire Department thanked 15 area fire departments for helping put out a blaze at an industrial building Monday, Oct. 4. Multiple patients were treated by EMS and fire personnel on the scene. A total of five people were treated for smoke inhalation, but they all refused transport. No fire personnel were injured.

Victims of a home fire themselves, a Salem Lakes family wants to make sure others have what they would need when they need it the most. Care bags for people who are displaced following a house fire were recently distributed to western Kenosha County fire departments by the Wagner Family Fire Fund, a new non-profit started by the family who lost their home to a fire in April 2020.

The driver of a gasoline tanker was killed in a fiery crash Saturday morning along Interstate 287 in New Jersey, state police said. The tanker truck overturned around 6:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway at MP 66 in Mahwah, a spokesperson for the NJSP said. Video from the crash site shows a massive fire on the interstate's shoulder, with thick plumes of black smoke filling the skies above.

A Milwaukee man is asking the community for help after losing his party bus business to an act of arson. Milwaukee police said they are investigating the arson and searching for the person or persons responsible, but the buses are a total loss. Appleton firefighter Mitch Lundgaard will be among the 215 names added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Maryland this weekend. Lundgaard's name will become a permanent part of the memorial during the 40th Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. Lundgaard, 36, died on May, 15, 2019, as his crew responded to an emergency medical call at the at the Valley Transit Center.

A sheriff's deputy saved two people from a house fire in Waupun. Fond du Lac County Sheriff's deputy Derek Rehfeldt was driving through the city when he saw smoke coming from a nearby house. He helped two men and a dog escape as the house filled with smoke. "I'm really glad God put me in that place at the right time and it worked out," Rehfeldt told WBAY-TV.
