Hunting season is in full swing in Wisconsin, and we are just weeks away from one of the biggest annual traditions in the state, the gun deer season.
Fond du Lac Fire Rescue is teaming up with Hoppers Silk Screening and All-Star Trophy to bring awareness to the hunting season, and promote safety during the hunt.

      VIDEO:  It took 100 firefighters about an hour and a half to get the upper hand on a blaze that gutted a Koreatown karaoke bar and pool hall at 207 S. Vermont Ave. on Thursday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said they were actually able to get crews inside the building at first, but the intensity of the fire grew in the attic.

      Crews from the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a fire on Milwaukee's north side Thursday morning, Nov. 4. 
When they arrived to the area of Fond du Lac and Villard around 3:30 a.m., they found flames coming through the roof of a business. 
It was eventually updated to a 2-alarm fire as it spread to the building next to it.

      The City of Jefferson continues to actively pursue its goal of becoming what Mayor Dale Oppermann in 2020 called a “solar city” with the recent installation of high-tech, sun-absorbing panels on the roof of its fire and EMS facility.
The fire and EMS home base on East Racine Street is the new home of the panels as a result of some help from the community’s locally owned, not-for-profit utility, Jefferson Utilities.

      A vehicle caught fire and spread to a garage during the early hours of Wednesday morning in Two Rivers.
According to the Two Rivers Fire Department, On Nov. 3 around 3:30 a.m., a call came in for a fire on the 2700 block of 12th Street in Two Rivers. A vehicle was on fire in the driveway between two homes.

      Crews responded to a fire in Chippewa Falls Wednesday afternoon.
According to a release from the Chippewa Falls Fire Department, Wednesday at 4:29 p.m., Chippewa Falls Fire & Emergency Services was dispatched to smoke coming from a home at 12 W Birch Street.
First arriving units noted moderate smoke coming from the rear, upstairs corner of the two-story home.

      PHOTOS: After a car struck a deer in the early hours of the morning, a tanker truck then collided with the car, causing the truck to overturn and explode, police said.
  According to police, Marissa Patterson, 18, of Forked River, was driving east on Route 37 at around 3 a.m. when a deer ran out in front of her car.

      St. Paul Fire Capt. Mike Paidar loved helping people and his family is hoping a new determination about his death will allow that legacy to live on.
Minnesota Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington recently concluded Paidar’s death from cancer was linked to his work and therefore occurred in the line of duty, making his family eligible for public safety officer death benefits.

      VIDEO/PHOTOS: A unique piece of history has returned home to one North Texas town.
A 1948 fire engine was recently discovered in a field by landowners in Sweetwater, Texas.
Anna Fire Chief Ray Isom says the landowners contacted the department and offered to donate the engine back to the city.
“They actually sent photos of it,” Isom said.

      Mitch Hokanson was making noise on the side of Oasis Rd. and causing drivers to turn their cars around to see what he was creating. Hokanson was in the middle of carving a large fish out of wood with a chainsaw, and this is his twentieth year finetuning his craft.
Hokanson creates chainsaw wood art and said he was first taught skills from his artistic mom and learned woodcutting from his dad, but he is also has learned a lot on his own.

      First responders across Massachusetts are warning residents to avoid a scam text message claiming to be running a t-shirt sale to benefit local fire departments.
The texts, fire officials say, impersonate the “friends of” groups of towns’ fire departments and offer limited edition t-shirts to support the firefighters.

      One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after falling approximately 8 feet into a maintenance tunnel typically covered by a grate around noon on Monday. The City of Madison Fire Department said Medic 5 and Engine Co. 9 responded to the 3800 block of Regent Street and located the person lying on their back in the opening just inside the building entrance.

      Los Angeles City Fire Department firefighters who commute thousands of miles to work each month could be forced to relocate to Southern California if a residency requirement is imposed in order to keep emergency personnel closer to the city in the event of a major disaster.
A report prepared for the Board of Fire Commissioners showed 115 firefighters currently live out of state, including 36 about 1200 miles away in Idaho, 10 about 2000 miles away in Tennessee, 11 about 1300 miles away in Texas, and 15 more than 600 miles away in Utah.
