De Pere Industrial Building Damaged By Fire

De Pere Firefighters put out a fire on the rooftop of an industrial building Tuesday morning. Crews were called to Sustana, 1751 Mathew Dr., just before 4 a.m. They found a fire on the roof of an outbuilding that handles methane gas. Firefighters put out the fire on the rooftop, but it had extended into the insulation, causing firefighters to overhaul the roof.

At least 1 person injured in Milwaukee apartment fire

One person was taken to the hospital with burns to the face after a fire at a Milwaukee apartment fire early Tuesday morning, Nov. 23. Officials say the call came in around 5:19 a.m. for a fire on the second story of a building near 62nd and Chambers. When crews arrived, they were able to rescue a man from a second story porch.

3-year-old child missing after home explosion in Flint, one person dead, more injured

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Police are investigating after a house explosion in Flint on Monday night. It happened on the 3900 block of Hogarth Avenue. According to Battalion Chief Ramsey Clapper, multiple people are injured. A 3-year-old girl, that was in the house at time of the explosion, is missing at this time.

COVID-19 Rebound in U.S. Is as Bad as Last November’s in Some Spots

La Crosse Fire Department installs smartburners in low income housing areas

The La Crosse Fire Department has been installing new burners on stoves in public housing. The burners will cook people’s holiday dinners without the danger of fires. SmartBurners prevent cooking oils from reaching a temperature in which they catch on fire. “Most of the cooking fires we see are the result of cooking oils getting to the point where they auto ignite,” said Pat Corran, the Fire Department’s community risk educator.

Eau Claire firefighters hope to 'keep the wreath green' for next five weeks

But it's more than a regular Christmas decoration, as the fire department's annual "keep the wreath green" campaign is set to start on Thanksgiving. Green Bay’s Hydro’s Helpers Program Encourages Kids to Adopt a Fire Hydrant

Kids can help Green Bay firefighters this winter season. The Green Bay Metro Fire Department and Green Bay Water Utility are relaunching the Hydro’s Helpers program. Children pick a fire hydrant near their home and pledge to keep it free of snow during the winter months. They will also be responsible for reporting any damages to the hydrant to their local water department.

Four people safe after vehicle ends up in Lake Winnebago

PHOTOS: Four people are safe after an SUV wound up in Lake Winnebago on Sunday. Fond du Lac Fire Rescue says they were called near Frazier Point in Lakeside Park for a report of a vehicle in the lake. The initial report said that two children were on the hood of the SUV and two adults were inside. When rescue crews arrived they found all four people on the shore unhurt.

Homes destroyed, firefighter hurt in North Carolina island fire

VIDEO: A large fire broke out on Bald Head Island on Saturday at around 8 p.m. Three units in Lighthouse Landing and one home were destroyed in the fire. Drone video provided to WRAL News showed large areas reduced to ashes in the aftermath of the blaze. The massive fire took 60 firefighters to put out.

How the Las Vegas MGM Grand Fire 41 years ago changed fire codes and standards

Las Vegas’s MGM Grand Hotel and Casino fire, which occurred on November 21, 1980, killed 85 people and injured 700 more. The fire, caused by an electrical fault associated with a refrigerated pastry display case, originated in an unoccupied restaurant on the casino’s first floor. The fire was discovered by hotel staff early in the morning when, by that time, it had evolved to open flaming and was increasing in size and intensity.

Mystery safe found at Pennsylvania community center was cracked open by city firefighters; It wasn’t empty.

Beloit man dies in house fire

A Beloit man died in a house fire in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue this morning (Friday, Nov.19). Crews from the Beloit Fire Department responded to the house fire at 4:19 a.m. after someone passing by reported heavy smoke coming from the home. The body of the man was found by fire crews in the home.
