La Crosse fire department breaks ground on new fire station two, headquarters

Work is officially underway on La Crosse’s new fire station. The department broke ground on Fire Station No. 2 on Monday. The station, on La Crosse street near the UW-La Crosse campus, is the city’s first new fire station in 55 years. Station 2 not only will house a crew but also will be the department’s new headquarters.

Four Green Bay firefighters call it a career

2 dogs killed as flames engulf Rock County home

2 seriously injured in propane-related explosion at Town of Niagara home

High winds cause Grand Chute duplex fire to spread

Superior High School Student's Senior Project Raising Money for Firefighters

VIDEO: Heavy flames engulf resort hotel in Texas

A resort at Possum Kingdom Lake in the western area of North Texas was engulfed in heavy flames in the overnight hours. The fire happened at The Cliffs Resort in Palo Pinto County. The Lake Palo Pinto Volunteer Fire Department posted pictures of crews working the early Sunday fire on Facebook. The volunteer department said crews from throughout Palo Pinto County helped put out the flames.

Eau Claire fire stations to get upgrades

De Pere firefighter treated for burns after garage fire

About 20 firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on S. Sixth St. Friday night. The fire department says the address on the 700-block was a two-story wood-frame house, but they found the fire was in a detached garage. The garage was already heavily involved when firefighters arrived. They knocked the fire out quickly, but the garage, including the owner’s vehicle inside, was a total loss.

If you were in the city of Manitowoc on that cold spring morning, you most likely remember what Fire Chief James Danielson called “The biggest and most spectacular fire ever in Manitowoc.” It was just around midnight when a fireman looked out a window of the old Franklin Street station and saw flames coming from Elevator B, formerly owned by the Northern Grain Company, which was four blocks away.

Future of West Bend Fire Station 2 in question

There have been recent studies that have suggested demolishing Fire Station 2 and its future status remains uncertain, but this post suggests a decision for its future is coming soon.
