Tampa Fire Rescue is hosting a donation drive to help those impacted by Hurricane Ian in Southwest Florida. The drive, which runs from Monday, Oct. 17, through Friday, Oct. 21., will be at multiple sites across Tampa on different days. “We’ve already sent down our first responders to support them as they recover from this disaster, but this donation drive is another big way for the city and community to give back," Tampa Fire Rescue Chief Barbara Tripp said.

The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating an incident where shots were fired and an apartment unit was set on fire Saturday night. Police say calls began coming in around 8:53 p.m. reporting shots fired into a building near 40th and West Florist Avenue. Several shots were fired into four apartment units, but no people were hit, according to police.

Two people were displaced after workers started an exterior wall on fire at a Near West Side home on Thursday afternoon, the Madison Fire Department reported. There were no injuries, and investigators determined the fire at the home in the 4200 block of Doncaster Drive was accidental, fire department spokesperson Cynthia Schuster said in a statement.

About 50 fire fighters from area fire departments spent the better portion of the early morning hours battling a house fire in the City of Waupun. When the first East End fire hall burned down in 1896, city leaders got to work developing a new fire hall on the corner diagonally across the street from the original wooden structure built in 1888. By May 1898, East End had its new fire hall, which was designed by architect James Chisholm. The two-story brick fire house featured brownstone trim, a round castellated corner tower and three bays with large Roman arch entrances for fire department’s five rigs.

Several animals are missing after a massive fire tore through a Fort Myers home early Friday morning. Firefighters quickly responded to the home on Sunset Road around 2:30 a.m. Numerous dogs and a cage of parrots made it out ok; however, many cats and two monkeys are missing, according to the Fort Myers Police Department.
