5G technology helping Arizona first responders prepare for calls

The latest 5G technology is improving how police and fire departments respond to calls in Arizona. Officials with Verizon and Verizon Frontline were at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix Tuesday night to showcase the latest tech. Fire crews are better prepared than ever when they head out on a call.

North Carolina firefighters team up with rescue animal organization for adorable, hot calendar shoot

Fighting fentanyl: North Texas mom teaches first responders about new treatments

There's a new treatment for combating fentanyl overdose many first responders are using called ZIMHI, which is administered like an epipen through the thigh and provides a stronger dose of naloxone into the body.

Fire quickly extinguished at northside La Crosse hotel

No one was hurt but a northside La Crosse hotel was partially evacuated after a fire early Wednesday morning. The La Crosse Fire Department was sent to America's Best Value Inn at 2622 Rose St. just after 6 a.m. for the fire in the entryway of the hotel. It was called in by employees of the Kwik Trip next door to the hotel.

Plans for Pleasant Prairie Fire Department Station No. 3 near completion

The village plan commission approved site and operational plans for Fire Station No. 3 in Prairie Springs Park, 10165 Terwall Terrace, during Monday’s meeting. The project will move to the village board for contract approval in January. The proposed plans place the new station at the northeast corner of Wis.

VIDEO: Crews take control of fire at auto parts store in Florida

Crews have taken control of a massive fire that broke out at an auto parts store in Hialeah. Hialeah and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews arrived at the scene at Rastro Coco Auto Parts, located at 5171 E. 10th Court, just before 1 p.m., Tuesday. The fire has been mostly put out after crews worked for hours to douse the flames.

Bat infestation at Nevada fire station so bad, department is abandoning building

A Nevada fire department that closed one of its stations for an “undetermined amount of time” because of a bat infestation is now preparing to hand that station back over to the state and move to a new building. The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District said in August that Fire Station 30, which dates back to the 1950s, was a “health and safety risk for crews.

New technology in Colorado allows 911 callers to give dispatch access to phone camera

Excited dog accidentally pulls fire alarm at Iowa day care

Massachusetts firefighter asks public for help after his car, gear stolen

Dollar General in Mondovi forced to close for several days due to fire code violations

Firefighters rescue dog that fell through thin ice on Peshtigo River

Firefighters in Peshtigo had to use an inflatable device to rescue a dog that fell through thin ice. The Peshtigo Fire Department posted on its Facebook page about a recent incident where a dog fell through the ice and into the Peshtigo River. The incident happened on December 5 around 10:30 a.m. The ice was reportedly thin, which made it hard for crews to reach the dog.

Merrill Fire Department responds to structure fire

The Merrill Fire Department responded to a structure fire in Merrill on Monday night. The call came in around 11:20 p.m. to reports of a fire on East 8th Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that all the occupants were out of the four apartments in the building. Occupants were displaced for the night, but according to the Merrill Fire Department occupants were hopeful that three of the four rooms could be re-occupied soon.

Driver dies in fiery rollover crash on I-41 near Wrightstown

The Wisconsin State Patrol says one person is dead from a fiery crash on Interstate 41 near Wrightstown Monday. Just before 11 a.m., the victim was driving north on I-41 and went off the side of the road. The vehicle rolled over several times and caught fire. The driver was unable to get out of the wreckage and died.

'Careless use of smoking material' caused fire at Tomah residential facility

Careless use of smoking material is to blame for a fire Saturday night at a community-based residential facility, according to the Tomah Fire Department. The fire department was called to the facility in the 100 block of East Council Street around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Those first on scene said that heavy fire was coming from the northwest side and was growing quickly.

A massive fire erupted at a Watertown farm Monday. Young’s Longrange Farm on Woodbury Road sustained damage after a 2nd alarm fire broke out at the farm Monday evening. Several neighboring fire departments were called to help Watertown Fire battle the blaze, including Waterbury and Woodbury. An eyewitness told Channel 3 he was driving by the farm when he saw the fire.

Electric fire engine joining North Carolina fire department

VIDEO: Charlotte Fire Department is adding an electric fire engine to its fleet. The REV Vector Electric Fire Truck has the longest electric pumping duration in the industry, according to department officials, and performs all ground duties. The Vector truck will use regenerative braking to help with battery charging.
