Crews fight residential fire in Oconomowoc

Crews fought a fire near Concord and Wisconsin in Oconomowoc early Monday morning. Oconomowoc police said in a statement they are helping the West Lakes Fire District with a residential structure fire at that address. There are some traffic closures due to the fire.

A marina warehouse in Mystic was heavily damaged in a four-alarm fire late Sunday night. Multiple departments responded around 9 p.m. to Washington Street on the Stonington side of Mystic for the massive fire at the Seaport Marine Warehouse. “It’s an older building that’s been around as long as I’ve been here which is 26 years,” said Bruce Flax, president, Mystic Chamber of Commerce.

Alabama the 1st state to include peer support training in fire recruit curriculum

Alabama has become the first state in the nation to add peer support training to its curriculum for new fire school recruits, thanks to funding from the Alabama Department of Mental Health and support from the Professional Fire Fighters of Alabama (PFFA). According to reports, 37% of firemen and women have battled post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and firefighters are three times more likely to die on the job than those in other careers.

Former Durand Fire Chief remembered

The Durand community is honoring the life and legacy of its former fire chief. Larry “Pit” Plumer led the department for more than three decades. “Pit was a lifelong member of the Durand Fire Department,” said Jamey King, the current fire chief for the Durand Fire Department. “He had 56 years of service.

Three injured, including teen in Maryland explosion

Boy meets Oklahoma firefighters who saved him from burning apartment

VIDEO: The young boy saved from a burning apartment in Oklahoma City recently met his rescuers. The Oklahoma City Fire Department posted on its YouTube page a video of the 4-year-old boy meeting the firefighters who saved him from the massive fire at Cape Cod Condominiums on Oct. 22. The OKCFD told News 9 that a cigarette or cigar caused the fire outside the apartment complex, which then spread to the building.

Driver sent to trauma center after slamming into fire engine in Florida

VIDEO: One person is at a local trauma center after driving into a parked fire engine at a high rate speed early Tuesday morning in Stuart. First responders were working at a crash on Interstate 95 near mile marker 90 and the fire engine was parked at an angle to protect crews from passing drivers. A driver in the right lane slammed into the back of the engine at a high rate of speed, according to Martin County Fire Rescue.

Wisconsin: Bucks basketball team donates Thanksgiving meals to Milwaukee firefighters

Firefighters are battling a large fire burning at a home goods warehouse in Huntington Park. The fire was reported at Slauson Avenue and Soto Street in the community south of downtown Los Angeles. Driver charged in deadly crash at Apple Store in Massachusetts held on $100K bail
