Vehicle fire in Pelican spreads to house, fire crews save further damage

Fire crews in northern Wisconsin saved a house from further damage after a vehicle next to a residence was ‘fully’ in flames. The Pine Lake Fire/Rescue shared in a Facebook post that the incident happened on Riverbend Road in the Town of Pelican. Crews were made aware of the incident after a neighbor reported the fire.

Dutchess County fire departments brighten spirits of young Wisconsin girl

Delaney, who turns five on Friday, was unable to participate in her Make-A-Wish trip due to an infection, and people across the country have tried to brighten her spirits for the holidays. Once Delaney’s plight went public, a family friend of theirs made an appeal for people to send the child holiday cards.

VIDEO: Building collapses after large fire sparks in northwest Oklahoma

Connecticut: Sandy Hook 10 Years Later - First responder’s wife came face-to-face with shooter

Portage Fire Chief expects quicker response times with addition of new fire captain

The Portage City Council approved a new fire captain in the 2023 budget and that person could reduce response times drastically as the department sees a rise in calls. Portage Fire Chief Troy Haase gave his annual report of 2022 on Tuesday night at the city council meeting on Tuesday night. He said with the addition of a new fire captain it could cut the department response time by up to four minutes.

PHOTOS: Patients at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison got a surprise Tuesday: a drive-by parade featuring Santa and local firefighters. A fleet of fire trucks cruised past the hospital on University Bay Drive. Santa stood atop one of the trucks, waving to kids in the hospital. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, they would actually go into the hospital.

VIDEO: 3 adults dead in multiple-vehicle crash and fire in Wauwatosa

Three adults were killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon that involved 10 vehicles, including a Milwaukee Department of Public Works pothole repair truck. Subaru Recalls Ascent for Potential Fire Risk

Subaru’s latest recall affects nearly every one of its family-hauling Ascent SUV. The issue stems from the electrical system and could lead to a fire. Included in the population are model-year 2019-22 Ascents. The ground bolt that secures the ground terminal of the positive temperature coefficient heater in the wiring under the dashboard may have been improperly fastened, which could result in melting of the ground terminal and surrounding components, increasing the risk of a fire.
