Update: Second person dies as a result of La Crosse house fire

A second person has died as a result of injuries suffered in a fire at a Rose St. residence late Friday night according to the La Crosse Fire Department. On Monday afternoon, they released the names of the two brothers who were the victims. They are identified as Lawrence Legacy, 67, and Steve Legacy, 66.

La Crosse area fire departments busy with fire calls

December has not gone according to plan for several fire departments in the La Crosse area. A handful of fires have happened including a fatal one along Rose Street in La Crosse. Others include two in Holmen, one on Saturday and the other on December 4. La Crosse Fire Chief Jeff Schott says that fighting fire in the winter can be very difficult.

Green Bay Fire Displaces Three Residents, One Injured

Three Green Bay residents are without a home today following a fire on University Avenue. The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was called to the residence in the 1100 block at around 11:30 last night and was able to extinguish the blaze in around 20 minutes. One civilian was injured in the incident and treated on the scene.

VIDEO: Multi-alarm fire at New Jersey commercial building burns through the night

Firefighters spent hours in freezing temperatures battling a fire at a commercial building in Linden. The blaze broke out around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and eventually went to three alarms. It was still burning more than 6 hours later. Video from NewsCopter 7 showed heavy smoke and flames shooting through the roof of the facility before dawn.

Inside the New $12.4 Million Fire Station at an Alabama Airport

A new Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) station and new ARFF trucks were unveiled last week at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth (BHM) International Airport. Florida warehouse fire that killed 4 prompts questions over fireworks storage

Fire at Waukesha Texas Roadhouse, restaurant evacuated

Firefighters responded to Waukesha's Texas Roadhouse Sunday night, Dec. 11. The restaurant is located near Barker and Bluemound. The fire was called in by a passerby. Firefighters found smoke coming from the roof. Waukesha Fire Department Battalion Chief Jim Haakenson said the "very busy" restaurant was evacuated, and police helped get staff and customers to the parking lot.

VIDEO: Four-Alarm fire rips through vacant California strip mall

Firefighters extinguished a Four-Alarm fire at a strip mall in Long Beach Sunday morning. According to Long Beach Fire Department, crews were dispatched at around 3:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a structure fire at a strip mall. The fire, located on Anaheim Street and Olive Avenue, damaged the building, which was said to be vacant as it was undergoing renovations.

Homecoming held for historic Rhode Island fire truck

VIDEOS/PHOTOS: A homecoming for a historic East Greenwich city service ladder truck was held on Saturday. The Ahrens-Fox fire truck made it's way back to the city, and its been nearly 65 years since it was last in service. The truck was used from 1931 to 1958. When it went out of service, it was sold to the South Meriden Volunteer Fire Department in Connecticut for use in ceremonies and parades.

In 1907, Santa Claus was briefly blamed for devastating Illinois fire

Santa Claus was briefly blamed for a Dec. 21, 1907, fire that destroyed the eastern half of the 600 block of East Adams Street. The final damage estimate, over $137,000, made the fire the most expensive in Springfield history up to that time. The blaze started in the Johnston-Hatcher store on the southwest corner of Seventh and Adams streets.

Firefighters extinguish lawn tractor fire in Verona

Firefighters were able to successfully extinguish a lawn tractor that caught fire in Verona Saturday evening. Dane County Dispatch says the call for the fire came in at 6:32 p.m. The Verona Fire Department was on scene within minutes. Verona Fire Department Chief Matthew Valentine said a lawn tractor caught fire within the garage of a home.
