New Fire Chief of Eau Claire Fire Department appointed

The Police and Fire Commission is announcing that a selection has been made for the next Fire Chief of Eau Claire Fire Department. According to a media release from the City of Eau Claire, the Commission selected Deputy Chief Matthew Jaggar of the Eau Claire Fire Department to become the City’s 22nd Fire Chief.

Marshall, Town of York and the Town of Medina fire departments work to maintain public safety

Marshall Volunteer Fire Department The Marshall Volunteer Fire Department serves the Village of Marshall, Town of York and the Town of Medina. The department was established in 1907. Frame construction, heated by wood-burning stoves, and lighted by kerosene lamps and other types of open flame, these building and living concepts of the early 20th century were often ravaged by fire.

DNR warns of fire high danger in Northern Wisconsin

The record snowfall recorded in some parts of Northern Wisconsin has melted away, and a lot of spring plants are getting a late start and with a week of warm temperatures, low humidity and increased winds this can cause a problem. 98% percent of wildfires are caused by people that means fires can be prevented.

VIDEO: Some homes evacuated after New Jersey warehouse fire

A Mercer County neighborhood was evacuated Thursday morning after a warehouse fire. The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. at the warehouse on Whitehead Road. Video from the scene showed flames were spilling out from windows. Smoke was billowing above the buildings after 6 a.m. Chuck Hector, who works at a building across the road, said the fire sparked explosions and jets of flame were shooting up into the air.

Firefighters participate in water rescue training in the Baraboo River

Baraboo hosted nearly a dozen fire departments over the weekend for swift water rescue training in the Baraboo River. The training drills firefighters for methods of getting people out of fast-flowing water quickly in different scenarios. “We’ve made sure with all of these training sessions. We make sure that everybody gets a lot of opportunities to do different things and make sure that we’re all going to be able to work together if, in any event, we need to,” said Black Earth firefighter Peter Kaminski.

No injuries in Brice Prairie house fire

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Fire officials report there were no injuries, but the house is a total loss after a late night fire in Brice Prairie. Firefighters on scene told News 19 that they arrived to find the home off of County Road Z fully engulfed in flames. Crews from Holmen, Galesville, and Campbell Fire Departments were called to provide assistance.

More Than 132K Jeep Cherokee SUVs Recalled Again for Fire Risk

VIDEO: Historic Lake Church Inn in Belgium a total loss following fire

Firefighters responded to the scene of a fire at Lake Church Inn, a historic building located in Belgium, Tuesday night. Now, officials say the building is a total loss. The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office says fire crews worked to extinguish the fire from 5:30 p.m. until midnight. Part of the building had to be demolished as crews battled the flames, and now the structure is a total loss.
