Stevens Point family displaced after fire

A family was displaced by a fire at a mobile home Tuesday in Stevens Point, but no one was hurt. Firefighters were called at 5 p.m. to a mobile home near Torun Road, according to Stevens Point Fire Capt. Dennis Zvara. Two people were inside the home when the fire started, but both made it out safely, Zvara said.

Madison Fire Department loses robber during hot pursuit chase

While responding to a medical emergency at Madison College on North Carroll Street, the Madison Fire Department found themselves in the midst of a robbery scene. According to a Madison Police Department incident report, a criminal grabbed the backpack of a 24-year-old woman, who was seated on a beach in a second floor hallway.

Green Bay neighborhood installs new tornado siren

VIDEO: Severe weather season is slowly coming to an end, but that didn't stop the city of Green Bay from installing a new tornado siren last week in the Red Smith neighborhood. The two mile radius siren is the strongest of it's kind and cost the city $17000 dollars to install, but according to its neighbors, that was worth every penny.

Federal appeals court considers case of Utah firefighters accused of taking painkillers

A federal appeals court is considering whether authorities violated the constitutional rights of two Unified Firefighters whose prescription drug history was accessed during a criminal investigation. The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments Tuesday in Marlon Jones and Ryan Pyle’s lawsuit against Cottonwood Heights, who accuse authorities there of violating their Fourth Amendment rights against search and seizure.

Ohio fire chief fired after engine acccident

Lebanon has fired its embattled fire chief after the city manager said the chief again failed to follow policies and procedures. Capt. Steven Johnson was named acting chief, replacing Perry Gerome on Monday. North Carolina fire department fined in diver's death

The North Carolina Department of Labor has fined Sherills Ford-Terrell Fire & Rescue in connection to the death of a rescue diver. Newton firefighter, Bradley Long, died in early-June while searching for the body of a drowning victim in Lake Norman. Long was working as part of the dive team at Lake Norman through Sherills Ford-Terrell Fire and Rescue to recover the body of Isaiah Cruz, who had drowned in the lake.

Milwaukee moves towards razing "hoarder house"

Fire destroys Whitewater barn

A Monday afternoon fire destroyed a 98-year-old barn at N101 Highway 59, in the town of Cold Spring, according to a Whitewater Fire Department news release. Estimated loss is $400,000, the release stated. All animals were out of the building when the first firefighters arrived on scene at 3:05 p.m. Ten fire departments provided assistance in battling the blaze while Whitewater police and Jefferson County deputies handled traffic control.

Orlando firefighters to be equipped with bulletproof vests

Harassment Allegations Trigger Shakeup at San Francisco Fire Station
