Arcing electrical wires sparked an attic fire that damaged a Baraboo home Sunday morning. Baraboo Fire Chief Kevin Stieve said the fire caused extensive damage to the home’s roof and moderate smoke damage to its main level. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the main body of the fire, which left moderate water damage.

One South Hadley firefighter received burns on his face and another suffered concussion symptoms in an explosion during Massachusetts Fire Academy training that District 1 Fire Chief Robert Authier described as "a close call for everybody."
