"Forces of Change" examines the landmark and seminal events that led to the creation and development of the early Green Bay Fire Department. This exhaustively researched book chronicles the time from establishment of organized firefighting in 1836, to creation of a stable fire department, through the merger of the cross-river sister-city fire departments of Green Bay and Fort Howard in 1895.

House fire in Mount Pleasant injures 3 people, kills 4 pets

Three people suffered minor injuries in a house fire in Mount Pleasant early on Monday, December 19th. Firefighters were dispatched to the home on Lawndale around 2:15 a.m. — and arrived to find the house fully engulfed. Everyone inside the home managed to get out of the building. South Shore Fire Department provided emergency medical care to the three occupants.

Town of Darien and village disagree on fire and EMS services

Officials in the town of Darien staked out their positions on the future of the joint EMS department it shares with the village of Darien during a town board meeting Tuesday night. The two municipalities share fire and EMS services, but town board member Jim Terpstra said the way things are split is unfair to the town.

Retired New Jersey fire chief dies after responding to blaze

Retired Elizabeth fire chief Lou Kelly died early Friday after he fell ill while responding to a fire in Clark last week and was rushed to a hospital. Pennsylvania fire training facility catches fire

PHOTO - After firefighters completed a controlled burn training session and left the area, the facility went up in flames. Smoke and flames engulfed the Crawford Venango Fire School at the corner of Ridge Road and Center Street in Cambridge Springs. The building caught fire around 3 p.m. This is a facility where firefighters hold training sessions with live fires mimicking realistic situations.

Missouri Ladder Truck Totaled in Crash, Two Firefighters Injured

PHOTO - Two firefighters were injured and a Sunrise Fire truck was totaled when the truck crashed on slick roads Friday morning. The crash occurred on State Road MM, and Sunrise Fire Chief Dennis Reilly said the two firefighters sustained only minor injuries, with the most serious being a fracture. Both firefighters are at the hospital.

Former California fire captain accused of embezzling over $200,000 from union

Red Cross helping victims of fire in southern Door County

VIDEO: Fire crews are on the scene of a fire in the southern part of Door County. It’s on Rocky Road, at the intersection with County Line Road, between Dykesville and Brussels. Firefighters were first called around 10:00 Sunday night. Red Cross volunteers on the scene say the fire started in a house and spread to three attached apartments.

Fall Creek couple trapped in silo for hours, Sunday

Crews were called to 1907 N 130th Street in Fall Creek Sunday evening. Officials say a man and his wife were stuck inside their silo. Firefighters say the man went into the silo around 4 P.

Dozens of sheep die in early morning fire in Town of Chase

The Pulaski Tri-County Fire Department was called out for an early morning fire that killed dozens of animals. Fire chief James Styczynski tells Local Five the fire was called in around 5:30 Sunday morning at a farmette in the Town of Chase. The fire was in a pole shed containing equipment and animals.
