Multiple Fire crews were called to a barn fire Tuesday morning on County Road JJ and State Road 76 across from the North Greenville Elementary School. When Firefighters arrived on scene heavy black smoke could be seen coming from the building. It's unknown at this time if there were any people or animals in the barn when the fire started.

Two men Wausau Police said burned down a shed at Wausau East High School are expected to be formally charged Tuesday in Marathon County Circuit Court. William Ritchie, 22, and Jacob Kerswill, 19, were both arrested Jan. 11. The Wausau Fire Department was called to a shed fire around 6 a.m. Jan. 10 at Wausau East High School.

After mid-May 2017 tornado ripped through Chetek and Cameron, Wis., leaving one person dead and dozens injured, staff from Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake were returning to the devastation to utilize their medical training and emergency response training in any way they could. The new year has brought a change in command for two firefighting units in western Racine County. Bill Vrchota, a 24-year veteran of the Town of Burlington Fire Department, was elected by his membership to be chief of the 26-member volunteer department. And, next door in Rochester, Jack Biermann Jr., a 20-year veteran of the Rochester Volunteer Fire Company, has been elected chief of the 25-member fire and rescue outfit.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Chief Jeff Collins attempted to pull back his resignation Monday just three days after it was announced.
