Eleven years ago this month, a fire ripped through a part of Universal Studios Hollywood.
At the time, the company said that the blaze had destroyed the theme park’s “King Kong” attraction and a video vault that contained only copies of old works.
But, according to an article published on Tuesday by The New York Times Magazine, the fire also tore through an archive housing treasured audio recordings, amounting to what the piece described as “the biggest disaster in the history of the music business.

Two people are in the hospital after a massive fire destroyed a $2 million mansion in The Woodlands on Palmer Woods.
About 15 units from the Woodlands Fire Department were on scene trying to get the flames under control.
The conditions were bad upon arrival so the firefighters went into defensive mode, but officials say it will be a total loss.

A spokesperson for the Dane County Sheriff's department confirms to News 3 Now that the two deaths at last week's Ironman are unrelated.
Two men died following an Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Madison, Wisconsin, over the weekend, the Madison Fire Department said.
Todd Mahoney, 38, an apparatus engineer with the fire department, and Michael McCulloch, 61, of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, both died during the swimming portion, which is 1.

"Last year we had a 25 percent turnover rate," Scott County EMS Director Brandon Remley said.

Members of the Madison Fire Dept. are still looking for answers following the death of one of their own.
Firefighter Todd Mahoney passed away Tuesday in the hospital following a two day battle for his life.
Mahoney is the second athlete to die after being rescued during the swimming portion of the half Ironman on Sunday.

The Madison Fire Department has a hole where firefighter Todd Mahoney should be, said Fire Chief Steven Davis.

12 fire crews respond to a structure fire in the village of Barneveld in Iowa County Tuesday evening.
The fire closed County Highway ID in Barneveld, authorities tell NBC15. It has since opened back for local traffic.

VIDEO: For two days last week, Menomonee Falls had almost no equipment to fight a fire. There were no fire engines Tuesday, and by Wednesday night, only part of a ladder truck was working. But Assistant Chief James Mollet said that is not even the worst part.
