Governor Tony Evers has signed Executive Order #222, mandating the flags of the United States and Wisconsin to fly at half-staff as a tribute to firefighters who died in the line of duty. Governor Ivey signed a proclamation recognizing Dothan’s HeartSafe initiative, Tuesday. Leaders from the Southeast Health Medical Center and Dothan Fire Department visited the state capitol for Governor Ivey to recognize Dothan as the state’s first HeartSafe city. The Milwaukee Fire Department launched on Monday, April 29 a new initiative to provide first responders with essential mental health support. A news release says the All-Hands Initiative, therapy sessions, fully funded by ITS, and facilitated by licensed mental health professionals from First Responders Psychological Services, LLC, will be available to firefighters starting May 1.

Fire crews are still on scene in Concord blocking off roads, several hours after a large fire gutted a commercial building. The fire broke out near the BART station on East Street and Sunset Avenue.
