Two Madison residents charged for alleged attempted arson during August civil unrest

Two people have been charged with attempting to damage and destroy two commercial buildings by setting them on fire during the civil unrest on Aug. 25 in Madison. U.S. States Attorney Scott C. Blader reported that Anessa Fierro, 27, and Willie Johnson, 45, were charged in two-count complaints filed in the U.

Riverside Fire announces new, single location to be complete by summer 2021

A new centralized Riverside fire station will be built in Rothschild next year, with completion by late summer. Earlier this month, the Rothschild village board approved the new station plans. Riverside Station No. 2 is located at 18 Alexander Ave. And station No. 1 is located at 1325 Schofield Avenue in Schofield.

Green Lake County woman dies in house fire

One woman is dead after a house fire in Green Lake County on Saturday morning. Green Lake County dispatchers received a call for a report of a house fire on 131 West Main St. in Princeton shortly after 7 a.m., according to the news release. The Princeton Fire Department and emergency medical services were paged as Princeton police and Green Lake County deputies responded to the fire.

Dumpster Fire Threatens Racine Homes

A fire in a construction dumpster briefly threatened two homes in the 1200 block of Harmony Drive on Tuesday afternoon. The Racine Fire Department responded to an active fire in a construction dumpster at 1231 Harmony Drive at about 4:24 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, RFD reported that the home’s occupant was attempting to put out the fire with a garden hose.

Pennsylvania county 911 to reduce nonemergency services to first responders

Ongoing staffing shortages at the York County 911 Center have caused the center's director to reduce the frequency and kinds of nonemergency services that dispatchers have been providing to police, fire and EMS agencies. The York Dispatch has obtained a copy of a two-page letter dated Sept. 18 that was sent to all York County police chiefs, fire chiefs and EMS officials by 911 Director Matthew Hobson.

House Passes Legislation to Support Fire & EMS Mental Wellness

Passerby alerts Madison homeowners to fire, homeowners extinguish flames with garden hose

According to a release, someone saw the fire when walking buy and knocked on the door to let the residents know that their house was on fire. A resident grabbed a garden hose while another called 911.

Wisconsin Rapids: Officials commemorate Spirit helicopter crash with EMS responder award

Officials with Spirit and law enforcement agencies came together to award one area woman for her work as an EMS responder. After the 2018 Spirit helicopter crash that killed three EMS responders, the company created the Spirit award to remember the three victims, as well as honor those who work in the field.

Smoke seen for miles as crews battle massive fire at Ohio factory

VIDEO: Fire crews are working to get a large fire under control at AAM Metal Forming/Colfor Manufacturing. The factory is on Alliance Rd. NW in Malvern. Paramedic creates new device that could help first responders in emergencies

A new device could help save lives. It’s called, “The Locator.” It helps first responders find the exact location of an emergency. Johnathan Harrison, founder of the product, was a paramedic in Tennessee in 2009. A new paramedic at the time, he responded to a call of a two-year-old in cardiac arrest in a mobile home park.

Sun Prairie condo fire displaces families

Everyone is OK after a fire at a condo complex in Sun Prairie Monday morning, according to the Sun Prairie Fire Department. Fire Chief Chris Garrison said firefighters were called to the unit at 677 Village Lane just after 8 a.m. for a report of smoke and flames. When they arrived, there were people in the building that didn't even know flames were spreading in the attic.

Firefighters rescue parent, child off Fort Funston cliff in San Francisco, officials say
