Two renters unaccounted for after fire at Sturgeon Bay bar, building is 'very compromised'

Two renters are unaccounted for after a fire at a bar in downtown Sturgeon Bay. The scene is located at Butch’s Bar at 112 S 3rd Ave. The call came in about 3:37 a.m. The Sturgeon Bay Fire Department is asking people to stay away from the scene. One renter was transported to a burn center for injuries.

Fire Station In Florida Gets First Mental Health Dog

As US cases drop, Hawaii is lone remaining state sticking with indoor mask mandate

Forty-nine states have announced plans to drop their indoor mask mandates as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations steadily decline across the country. The only holdout remains Hawaii. The island state has taken strong precautions against the coronavirus from the beginning of the pandemic and is still requiring out-of-state American travelers to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to avoid a mandatory quarantine.

Rhinelander apartment fire displaces 26 people

A fire early Sunday morning at an apartment complex in Rhinelander displaced 26 residents and sent one person to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Madison Fire and Police Departments manage gas leak on the east side

Madison Fire and Police Departments have completed ventilating a building on Madison’s east side following a weekend gas leak. A man first knocked on Fire Station #8's door just after 3 p.m. Saturday to alert firefighters of the smell of natural gas, MFD said. Community donates more than money during fundraiser for Highland's fallen firefighters

Plan underway to bring Whitewater fire department under city umbrella

Plans are underway to transform Whitewater’s volunteer fire department into an official city department, the city said Thursday. In a news release, the city said discussions on the plan began at the end of last year. Members of Whitewater Fire Department, Inc. gave their blessing in January to move forward with creating an official relationship with the city.

His new invention is a special light bulb called “The Locator 911” and it launched this week for anyone to buy. Johnathan Harrison was a paramedic for 25 years and said he was in many situations where they couldn’t find the person who needed help because the address didn’t come up properly in GPS systems.

Beloit apartment building fire displaces 10 residents

Ten people are displaced after a fire tore through three apartment buildings in Beloit, according to the American Red Cross of Wisconsin. One person displaced after Madison mobile home fire

City of Madison firefighters responded to a structure fire on Rustic Parkway on Friday. Crews responded to 30 Rustic Parkway around 1:00 a.m. Crews saw flames coming form the rear of the mobile home when they arrived, according to Madison Fire. The occupant evacuated the home safely and told firefighters no one else was in the home.

One dead following fire at Monroe trailer park

One person was found dead after a fire at a trailer park Wednesday morning, according to the Monroe Fire Department. Firefighters responded to the fire on the 2600 block of 8th Ave. in Monroe at Lot 17 where they later found a deceased body. That person has not yet been identified and was taken to Madison for an autopsy.
