A large fire tore through the Villa Hills Civic Club and destroyed it early Thursday, fire officials say.
A passerby reported the blaze at 2:46 a.m.
The club’s single-story building is located off Rogers Road near Lakeshore Drive and the Villa Hills Police Department.
Fire crews with the Crescent Springs Villa Hills Fire Department responded to find it fully engulfed in flames.

Located at corner 14 North Monroe Street, the New York City Fire Department (FNDY) fire station was built in 1903 by Hook & Ladder Company 8. Initially, the building was designed to be the first in a series of Beaux-Arts-style firehouses by Alexander H. Stevens who was the city superintendent of buildings.

On Monday, Feb. 14 the Helena Fire Department shared a sneak peek at their new fire trucks. The trucks truly stand out from their predecessors in that they are Helena’s signature Husky blue as opposed to the traditional red.

The Eau Claire Fire Department is showing how its fighting fires without spreading harmful chemicals.
Firefighters say the suppressant, known as F-500 is an environmentally friendly encapsulator agent.
This means though it can put out many types of fires effectively. It doesn’t have harmful man-made chemicals known as P-FAS, like its predecessors.

Just days after he was announced as the preferred candidate, JB Moody has formally accepted the position of Fire Chief in the City of Stevens Point.
The process was finalized Wednesday following a vote of the city’s Police and Fire Commission. Moody will begin his duties on March 2nd.
“I am very happy with the selection of Jb Moody as the new Chief,“ said Stevens Point Mayor Mike Wiza.

A virtual reality tool is helping firefighters train in the field without leaving the station.
Northcentral Technical College and Illinois-based GTI Energy partnered to develop emergency response testing modules for firefighters.
The project was State funded by the Department of Transportation.
Each module simulates an emergency situation on a highway with vehicles.

A tanker crashed into the front of a Rockville Centre business, going up in flames and closing Sunrise Highway for the Wednesday morning commute.
The driver of the tanker, carrying approximately 9,200 gallons of gasoline, lost control on Sunrise Highway at North Centre Avenue at around 1:10 a.m. The vehicle overturned and crashed into the front of a vacant storefront that until recently housed a La-Z-Boy showroom.

Along Blue Heron Boulevard and Congress Avenue, construction is officially underway for a new fire station in Riviera Beach.
On Tuesday, City leaders broke ground on a $17 million fire house that is expected to be up and running by the end of next year. The new station will be one of the most state-of-the-art fire stations in the county if not the state, Fire Chief John Curd said.

Janet Danahey, a UNCG student, set outside items on fire at a Campus Walk apartment. She said she was trying to get back at an ex-boyfriend. The fire spread to the entire building.
