New Jersey firefighter charged with pulling machete during firehouse argument

Charges filed against water treatment plant manager at Washington State Fire Training Academy

Firefighters training at the Washington State Fire Training Academy (FTA) in North Bend between 2012 and 2014 may have been exposed to contaminated water, according to court documents filed March 1 by Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson. Deadly boarding house fire claims 6 lives in Atlanta

Illinois police officer killed in crash with ambulance

A South Jacksonville police officer died after the squad car he was driving turned into the path of an ambulance as both vehicles were headed to an emergency medical call on Friday night. Scot Fitzgerald, 32, died in the crash that happened at 8:54 p.m. on Illinois 267 about one mile north of Nortonville Road, near Murrayville in Morgan County.

Colorado firefighters train at night on extrications

2 Washington fire recruits accused of EMT test cheating, termination recommended

An investigation by the Tacoma Fire Department determined two new recruits cheated on an EMT test and recommended they be terminated, despite acknowledgement from a private company involved that an "administrative error" allowed the pair to get questions ahead of time. EMS panel advising mayor stonewalled by D.C. mayor, fire department

Fire chief: When to say no to mutual aid
