California Doctor Charged in Opioid Case Is Linked to DUI Crash That Killed Fire Captain

An Orange County doctor has been arrested on suspicion of illegally selling powerful narcotics to a man who is suspected in a DUI crash that killed a Costa Mesa fire captain, as well as selling drugs to five people who went on to fatally overdose, local officials with the Justice Department announced Tuesday.

Beloit: Three honored for life-saving heroism

Three Beloit residents were recognized Monday for their heroism in saving lives during an Oct. 12 house fire on Tenth Street. Brian Brewster, Savvas Mourtzis and Christine Rowlett were honored with the award from Beloit Fire Chief Brad Liggett at Monday night's Beloit City Council meeting. Brewster, Mourtzis and Rowlett are credited by the department for successfully saving the lives of the six residents of 1015 Tenth St.

Fire at Superior grain elevator causes $10M in damages, battalion chief says

CAL Fire Report: Washington firefighter was napping when run over by truck

A firefighter who was run over by a pickup truck during last month's deadly Southern California wildfire was sleeping in an unmarked area but received prompt care for his minor injuries, a new state fire report said. Ohio firefighter-paramedics suspended for taking, distributing photos of patients

Two Columbus firefighter-paramedics were suspended without pay for taking photographs of medical patients without their permission and sending them to others. The Department of Public Safety announced the suspensions Monday afternoon. Firefighter-paramedic Mike McConnell, an eight-year veteran of the division, admitted to taking photographs and video in 2016 of a patient.

Maryland county names first female fire chief, a 29-year department veteran

Virginia county meeting turns into screaming match over EMT accused of white supremacy

Southern Door Fire Board names new fire chief

With a vote last Wednesday night of the Southern Door Fire Board, there are now two fire departments in Door County with chiefs named Vandertie. Attorney: Gardner emergency responders not licensed, not insured

Good Samaritan saves woman from burning Rock County home

Careless use of smoking materials causes fire in Fond du Lac, no one injured
