One hurt in Milwaukee house fire at 13th and Cleveland

VIDEO: One person was taken to the hospital after a fire on Milwaukee's south side. It happened near 13th and Cleveland. The fire department says the person was hurt when his family was helping him get out of the house. Firefighters have not said how the fire started.

Six calves die in Crave barn fire in Waterloo

Six calves died in a barn fire on New Year’s Day on the Crave Brothers Farm and Farmstead Cheese, W11550 Torpy Road, Waterloo. “Upon arrival the middle calf farm was just glowing orange,” Waterloo Fire Chief Vern Butzine said. “We had a full crew and we had a very successful knock down in a very short time,” he added.

Merton Fire Department's new drone can assist in fire and rescue missions across Waukesha County

The Merton Community Fire Department has become one of the few public safety departments in Waukesha County to own a drone after a recent $13,000 purchase. Merton Fire Chief Josh Paral said they decided to purchase a drone after a department member brought one to a training exercise to get film of the training.

A city-commissioned review to be released Tuesday found pervasive “locker room talk” and an unwelcoming culture toward women in the largely male ranks of the Boston Fire Department and urged city officials to take several steps to boost the number of women on the force. Just 16 women are in the 1,500-member Fire Department, which has been criticized three separate times for its culture over the past 19 years.

President Trump says he's cutting off FEMA money for California fires

President Donald Trump said in a Wednesday tweet that he is cutting off federal money to fight California wildfires, claiming the money is being wasted. "Billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forest Management, would never happen," Trump said. "Unless they get their act together, which is unlikely, I have ordered FEMA to send no more money.

Pension fund offers little relief for 8,000 Ohio police, fire retirees who lost health coverage

New simulation technology helps train Illinois firefighters

New York: Judge sides with city in former fire chief’s suit

The city of Canandaigua was within its rights to terminate former Canandaigua Fire Chief Mark Marentette and followed due process in doing so, according to a decision dated Jan. 8 from United States District Court Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford. Marentette in September 2017 filed a civil rights suit claiming his 1st and 14th Amendment rights were violated when he was fired and his right to a fair hearing was violated.

Racine County: Teen dies from injuries in hit-and-run crash; suspect in custody

'Failure to care, indifference' led to Delaware firefighters' deaths, court records claim

The city of Wilmington and its mayors' "failure to care" and "indifference" led to the deaths of three Wilmington firefighters and serious injuries to another three in a row home arson in Canby Park in 2016, according to the latest round of court documents filed in a civil lawsuit in the case, obtained by WDEL.
