Firefighters say no one was hurt after a vehicle was found on fire.
The Kaukauna Fire Department responded for a report of a vehicle fire with flames visible around 3:07 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.
Arriving firefighters found the vehicle parked on the side of 14th street away from any buildings.
The occupant of the vehicle had parked and exited the vehicle after he noticed smoke.

A Rice Lake man has been charged with arson of a building, mistreating animals and disorderly conduct.
According to a Barron County criminal complaint, 37-year-old Eric Thorson of Rice Lake was out of control and had started a fire.
Thorson was reported taking kittens out of his apartment and throwing them at the concrete ground, claiming he wanted to kill them all.

On July 10, 2 residential fire fatalities were reported by the Nation's news media.
A shirtless, “highly intoxicated” man stole a Whitewater Rescue ambulance parked at the fire department and knocked over a sign, according to a criminal complaint filed in Walworth County Court.
Prosecutors charged Andrew A. Dufek, 21, of 956 W. Conger St., Whitewater, on July 2 with burglary and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Multiple fire departments responded Thursday night to a report of an apparent fire of a home on East Spring Street on Orfordville’s north side, authorities said.
According to emergency radio communications shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday, police officers reported the house apparently was fully on fire, and multiple local fire departments were being called in for mutual aid.

The Bill Ricci World Trade Center Rescue, Recovery and Cleanup Operations Act that gives disability coverage to first responders who were part of the rescue, recovery or cleanup at the World Trade Center site after 9/11, won't immediately help the firefighter who inspired the measure.

When little Jahid Mitchell walked into the Central Ohio Fire Museum and Learning Center, he was wide-eyed and ready to explore.

Prosecutors dropped a second-degree sexual assault charge against Milwaukee Firefighter Michael Peden on Thursday.
Peden and his attorney showed up at the Milwaukee County courthouse for a final pre-trial hearing and learned the state was dismissing the case against Peden. "We're happy he's been cleared of these charges," Peden's attorney Rebecca Coffee said.

A garage fire in the city Wednesday night caused about $2,000 worth of damage.
Authorities responded to the blaze around 5 p.m. at 2606 N. 19th Street, according to the Sheboygan Fire Department.
Officials said firefighters quickly put out the fire and limited damage to the garage and surrounding buildings.

A Boston first responder underwent emergency surgery Wednesday after being stabbed multiple times by a patient she was treating in the back of an ambulance while en route to the hospital, officials said.
A 31-year-old “emotionally disturbed” woman began stabbing the female EMT who was treating her in the back of an ambulance headed for Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston EMS Chief Jim Hooley told the Boston Herald.

Mechanicsburg’s two volunteer fire companies are joining forces to serve the borough as one new entity, according to a press release issued Wednesday.

A worker died Wednesday after a fall at an under construction Amazon facility.
