Have you ever heard of a fire truck being raffled off? That's what one Schuylkill County fire company is doing. "We've gotten some messages. I've gotten some messages from people saying, 'what are you guys thinking?' But honestly, it's a good truck, and we're going to give it a shot," said Sam Detweiler of Liberty Fire Company No.

Fire damages mobile home on Kellom Road in Beaver Dam

Fire damaged a mobile home in the town of Beaver Dam Thursday morning, but no injuries were reported. According to a press release from the Beaver Dam Fire Department, firefighters responded at 5:10 a.m. to N8283 Kellom Road Lot 85 after the resident, Walter Stavanew, returned to the home and reported it was full of smoke.

Fire damages vacant home in Milwaukee, no injuries

Firefighters on Thursday morning, Oct. 22 responded to the scene of a house fire near 12th and McKinley. The call came in around 2 a.m. Officials say the house was vacant and the fire was contained to one building. It does not appear there was damage to any neighboring homes. No injuries were sustained as a result of the fire.

Nine people displaced after Green Bay fire

Two adults and seven children were displaced after a fire on the city’s west side Wednesday evening. At about 7:45 p.m., Green Bay Metro Firefighters were called to 132 Oak St for a report of a building on fire. Smoke and flames were visible. “Upon arrival initial companies found smoke showing from the front two stories of the structure and flames showing from the rear entry doorway,” reads a statement from Battalion Chief Tony Piontek.

CDC Reduces Consecutive Minutes Of COVID-19 Exposure Needed To Be A 'Close Contact'

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has changed the amount of time it would take for someone to be considered a close contact of a person with COVID-19. Previous language defined a close contact as someone who spent at least 15 minutes within 6 feet of a confirmed case. The CDC now defines a close contact as someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period.

Artist in Missouri uses fire helmets as canvas

Grand jury indicts Madison pair for August arsons during protests

Two people from Madison have officially been indicted for allegedly setting fire to a pair of commercial buildings in Madison during the civil unrest that erupted in August. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that a federal grand jury has formally indicted Anessa Fierro, 27, and Willie Johnson, 45, on two counts each of attempting to damage and destroy by fire the two buildings.

Florida firefighter speaks out on surviving fall in vehicle from expressway

Fond du Lac Fire Rescue adds new safety tool to ambulances

Fond du Lac Fire Rescue is adding another line of protection for its frontline workers. Since the Spring, when COVID-19 first appeared in Northeast Wisconsin, Fond du Lac Fire Rescue, like other first responders, implemented safety measures to keep its crews safe. Barn fire in Watertown causes more than $200K in estimated damages

A barn fire in Watertown reportedly caused more than $200,000 in damages Tuesday morning. A news release said Jefferson County dispatchers received a report of black smoke and flames coming from a barn on N8350 High Road shortly after 8 a.m. Officials said the property owners reported the fire after a witness notified them.

Church destroyed by massive fire in Oklahoma

Coffee with a kicker: Nonprofit shop in Maryland will help volunteer firefighters recruit

Second Alarm Brewhouse in Pasadena is pioneering a new business model: Great coffee that helps local volunteer firefighters. The shop has opened its doors in Pasadena and celebrated Saturday. But instead of cutting a ribbon, they cut a hose. The coffee shop was originally a coffee truck, and owner Duane McKee is a volunteer himself.
