A helicopter pilot suffered critical injuries Sunday after his aircraft crash at about 4:30 p.m. at Kenosha Regional Airport. The pilot, an unidentified male, was the only one on board, Kenosha Fire Department Chief Charles Leipzig said. A Flight for Life medical helicopter was called to transport the man, most likely to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, Leipzig said.

A 29-year-old Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter died Monday, two days after he fell from an aerial ladder during a training exercise in downtown, officials said.
"The LAFD is heartbroken to announce the loss of one of our members, Firefighter Kelly Wong," a two-year veteran of the department, according to a news release.

A firefighter was critically injured Saturday morning when he fell from an aerial ladder during a training exercise in downtown, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The incident occurred about 9:43 a.m. in the 300 block of Main Street, said Amy Bastman, a spokeswoman for the department.
The injured firefighter was treated by his colleagues at the scene and transported to a nearby trauma center, Bastman said.

VIDEO: Didion Milling released a statement Sunday afternoon that the local fire department and Columbia County Sheriff's Office have recovered the body of a worker killed in the plant explosion Wednesday night. Didion Milling said safety engineers recovered the body of 21-year-old Pawel Tordoff. One person was injured in a Saturday morning fire in an apartment above Murphy’s Pub, 123 Main St. The man, who had been in the apartment that caught fire, was found on the roof over the pub, suffering from an injured arm. Almost 300 state firefighters whose promotions were suspended after Cal Fire discovered suspected cheating on a November 2016 exam can move up the ranks as long their individual results are vetted one more time, according to a Thursday decision from the State Personnel Board.
The board voted to allow Cal Fire to promote from an exam that it dismissed last month when it reported that it found “irregularities” on a test that captains must pass before advancing to battalion chief.
