A memo released last month by the county career firefighters union shows negotiations between the union and county executive over pay, benefits and other issues have stalled.
Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner (D) and the union last met on March 7, and tried to work out a deal multiple times, according to the memo.

The city and San Antonio’s firefighters union have agreed to continue contract negotiations with assistance from a mediator, avoiding arbitration for now.

Around 8:30 p.m., crews responded to Stalzy's Deli on the 2700 block of Atwood Avenue.

A relatively new team within the South Shore Fire Department has proven to be quite busy. The "Technical Rescue Team" was called out twice on Tuesday, April 2, helping to keep two very different structures from collapsing.

An east Madison restaurant sustained significant damage in an early morning fire Friday, officials said.
The Madison Fire Department said the fire at Sumo Steakhouse and Sushi Bar on Parkside Drive was kept in check overnight by an automatic fire sprinkler.

Two people sustained minor injuries and 12 people were displaced Thursday afternoon in an apartment building fire in Monroe that caused heavy damage to one apartment and smoke damage to the other apartments.

The city has sent pink slips to 68 Houston Fire Department cadets, the first documented layoffs resulting from Mayor Sylvester Turner’s plan to implement Proposition B.
The trainees will remain employed through June 7, according to a copy of the layoff notice sent to cadets.

Sonoma County’s newest fire district is making its debut Thursday, combining four agencies into one large district circling Santa Rosa, and spanning from Windsor to the Napa County line.

Brown County law enforcement and first responders are training so they're all on the same page in a potentially dangerous situation like an active shooter, fire, or explosion.

Four Beloit Turner School District students are transported to the hospital following a school bus crash Thursday morning.
The Town of Beloit Fire Department says first responders were dispatched to the single-vehicle crash in the parking lot of the police station shortly before 7:00 a.m.
