Five family members are displaced Monday afternoon after fire started in their kitchen.
The Watertown Fire Department received a call around 2:30 p.m. from the City of Watertown Dispatch Center about a building fire at 1153 Boughton Street. According to a news release, the occupants of Building 6 called 911 for a kitchen fire.

The team behind a new wellness program created specifically for firefighters said they hope early cancer screening will help save lives.
The Medical Center of Aurora and Potomac Primary Care are launching the new effort called the Firefighter Wellness and Cancer Screening Program.
“They support and protect our Colorado communities and now it’s time for us to protect them,” said Amie Shae, the oncology program manager at The Medical Center of Aurora and part of the team that created the new program.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue tweeted a photo of a coyote creeping in front of a fire truck parked inside their bay.

The Madison Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Madison’s west side Sunday morning, according to a firefighter at the scene.
The homeowner, Donna Gray, said she and her husband were relaxing by the fireplace this morning when she started to smell smoke. After realizing it wasn’t coming from the fireplace, her husband searched the house but couldn’t find where it was coming from.

One person is dead in a house fire in Medford early Saturday morning.
At 1:20 a.m., the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a house was on fire at the 1100 Block of South 8th Street in Medford.
Officers on scene found an attached garage on fire and the house filled with smoke, according to a release from the Medford Police Department.

Fire caused minor damage to an Oconto tavern Friday night.
Approximately 10 people inside at the time evacuated, said Oconto Fire Rescue Chief Josh Bostedt. No one was injured.

The Shorewood Station remodel started in December 2019, according to North Shore Fire/RescueChief Robert Whitaker. The Whitefish Bay Station remodel started in June 2019.

The truck, known as Queen City 2, was given to the Willard Fire Protection District from retired assistant chief Bub Herbert who attempted to restore Queen City 2 himself.

The Milton Joint Fire Commission will begin negotiations with the City of Janesville to merge the municipalities’ fire departments.
The board voted Wednesday night to authorize fire chief Ernie Rhodes to work out details with Mark Freitag and other Janesville city leaders for a potential contract.
The fire commission debated whether to move forward with the full consolidation, but they acknowledged they can’t know all of the details about what the merger would look like until they see the potential contract with Janesville.
