Update: Thousands of child porn images found on Milwaukee firefighter's computer

Federal investigators found thousands of child pornography images on a tablet computer seized from a Milwaukee firefighter, court records show. Robert Rutley, 44, told investigators he had been interested in child pornography for more than a decade and had begun downloading it at work after a relative caught him doing it at home, according to a federal arrest warrant affidavit.

Man who fell through ice near Fountain City has chance to offer thanks to rescuer

VIDEO: Donald Powis didn’t plan to be at Merrick State Park near Fountain City, Wisconsin on Friday afternoon. The 69-year-old social worker was planning to do a little fishing, but roughly 300 miles away from the shores along Fountain City Bay. Heightened Security for Reopening of Fire House 13 in Milwaukee

VIDEO: The busiest fire engine company in Wisconsin is back open for business. Fire Station 13 at 30th and Locust in Milwaukee reopened Wednesday morning with heightened security after somebody used it for target practice last week. Fond du Lac first responders learning about integrated responses to active shooter situations

A conference happening this week in Fond du Lac is educating law enforcement, fire and EMS on the response. Janesville house fire results in more than $115,000 damage

An early Wednesday morning fire that appears to have started from a gas grill, on a deck being left on, has resulted in between $115,000 and $130,000 damage to a single-family home at 210 S. Pontiac Drive, said Janesville Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Lukas. Homeowners grilled out about 6 p.m.

Four families escape Berlin apartment fire

VIDEO: An overnight fire destroyed an apartment building in Berlin, leaving four families without homes. The fire happened on Quarry Street, on the Berlin’s east side. The City of Berlin Police Department says flames had spread throughout the four-unit apartment building by the time fire crews responded about 8:00 Tuesday night.

Beloit Fire stretched by call volume

City fire and emergency medical staff are concerned over the steadily increasing volume of fire and medical calls. The Beloit Fire Department responded to 5,431 total calls in 2016, compared to 5,036 in 2015. The most common types of calls fielded over the two years stemmed from difficulty breathing to reports of chest pains and fire alarm responses.

Popular Milwaukee Barbecue Restaurant Catches Fire, Again

VIDEO: For the second time in under four months fire hits a popular barbecue restaurant in Milwaukee. The kitchen at "Ashley's Que" on 2nd and National caught fire this afternoon, right as the family was rebuilding their first restaurant that burned down. The back of the building on 2nd and National is pretty heavily damaged but firefighters were able to get the fire under control, contain it to that spot, and put the whole fire out in about an hour.

Pittsville area homes damaged by early winter floods

VIDEO: Nearly a dozen homes alongside Highway 80 near Pittsville were flooded Tuesday after a heavy rainfall overnight. According to Pittsville Fire Chief Jerry Minor, the Yellow River rose quickly giving nearby homeowners little warning. “We've been in the middle of a remodel in the basement,” said Tanya Stelzer.

Sun Prairie Fire Chief rips proposed changes impacting state fire regulation

Sun Prairie Fire Chief Chris Garrison joined other fire chiefs on Monday, Feb. 13 in calling on Gov. Scott Walker to expand the use of circuit interrupters in new Wisconsin homes -- just days after teaming up with his fellow chiefs to oppose changes to state fire sprinkler standards. “Anything under 20 units didn’t require sprinklers, which to me, is a huge step back,” Garrison said, referring to the proposed legislation that would have changed sprinkler regulations for multi-unit dwellings.

Female firefighters rare on central Wisconsin forces

Shots fired into Milwaukee fire station, forcing it to close

Gunfire struck a Milwaukee Fire Department fire station on the west side Friday afternoon, forcing the station to close, fire department officials said. Multiple shots were fired into Engine Co. 13 at 2901 N. 30th St. about 1 p.m., a news release from the department said. No department members were injured.

Victims of Pittsfield fire identified

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has identified two people found dead following a house fire in the Town of Pittsfield. Investigators say the victims were 49-year-old Allen J. Renier, and 41-year-old Molly B. Brochman. On Friday, firefighters were called to a home on Tamarack Drive between Oak Hill Drive and Westline Road, between Pulaski and Green Bay.

1 dead in Kronenwetter crash, fire

PHOTO: One person is dead after two vehicles collided and hit a house in Kronenwetter Friday, sparking a small fire, according the Marathon County Sheriff's Department. The crash closed all lanes of Highway 153 in both directions just east of Pioneer Road, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

1 adult, 3 children escape Oconomowoc fire

An adult and three children escaped a fire at a rental property southwest of downtown Oconomowoc on Thursday night. Firefighters were called to 621 Highland Ave. at 9:54 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 for a structure fire and found black smoke billowing out of the home, according to a news release from Oconomowoc Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Leidel.

Fire officals: Family unaccounted for in Brown County fire

VIDEO: Firefighters are trying to determine if anyone was home during an early morning house fire in Brown County. Pulaski Fire Chief James Styczymski tells NBC26 that right now crews are investigating who lived at the home on Tamarack Drive in the Town of Pittsfield. Firefighters rescue dog from icy Wisconsin River

VIDEO: Firefighters with the Kilbourn Fire Department performed a nighttime rescue on the icy waters of the Wisconsin River, saving a dog named Milo. The black dog was spotted by people several miles upriver floating on a piece of ice. The dog floated down the river for two hours before firefighters were able to rescue it.

Fire destroys shed, damages outside of Kenosha home

Quick action by homeowners probably saved their home from fire Wednesday. “The homeowners did an excellent job in calling us immediately. It absolutely kept the fire from entering their home,” Kenosha Fire Department Battalion Chief Matt Haerter said. “Another few minutes, the fire would have spread to the attic, and we’d have a far different outcome.

Green Bay leaders discuss repairs to 9/11 memorial

Man Killed in Condo Fire in Greenfield

VIDEO: A Greenfield man is dead after a fire broke out inside his condominium unit Wednesday afternoon.
