Classes resume after fire at Wild Rose Middle & High School sends construction worker to hospital

VIDEO: Classes resume Friday at Wild Rose Middle and High School Friday, a day after a fire injured two construction workers. One had to be airlifted to a hospital, the Wild Rose Fire Department said in a statement. At approximately 2:12 p.m., the Wild Rose Fire Department responded to reports of a rooftop fire at the Wild Rose Middle and High School.

Oshkosh Fire Department collects donations during first night of annual Food & Toy Drive

VIDEO: It is the 25th anniversary of the Oshkosh Fire Department Local 316’s Annual Food & Toy Drive, and the department collected donations during the opening night of the program. On November 29, the department kicked off the program by going around the south side of Oshkosh. The route started near South Main Street and ended near Knapp Street.

Town of Sheboygan apartment fire causes $400,000 in damage

VIDEO: Multiple departments responded to an apartment fire in the Town of Sheboygan Wednesday afternoon. The fire broke out in an upper-level apartment at Mapledale Residential Communities. Part of N 40th Street was blocked off, which intersects W Oakdale Ct. Firefighters were on the scene within four minutes of the call.

Appleton home fire spread from shed, fire department says

VIDEO: Here in Appleton, neighbors who witnessed a fire jumped in to help before firefighters arrived. A neighbor here on Friendly Street told me about the scary moments from Tuesday night. “When I looked out the window, you could see, like, the flames.” Betsy Vargas lives only a couple of houses away from the home that burned.

After fatal fire, Milwaukee firefighters go door to door to check for smoke alarms

VIDEO: In a proactive move to enhance fire safety in the community, Milwaukee firefighters conducted door-to-door checks Wednesday for working smoke alarms. The move comes after an incident Tuesday night, when the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a severe house fire. Engine 23 and Rescue 1 arrived at the scene to heavy smoke and intense flames on the upper rear floor of a multi-family home.

Fire breaks out at Eagle River pet crematory

A fire broke out at a pet crematory Tuesday afternoon in Eagle River. Around 2:56, fire crews responded to call of a fire at Forever Remembered Pet Crematory on Commerce Loop. Eagle River Fire Chief Michael Anderson told News 9 that the fire started in the east smoke stack of the building and spread along the interior of the roof.

13 Wisconsin agencies respond to fully engulfed workshop fire

Authorities say it took the work of 13 different agencies to help put out a Monday morning fire that left a workshop a total loss. According to a release from the Wild Rose Fire District, crews responded at 8:40 a.m. to a building that was reported to be on fire just north of the Village of Wild Rose.

Milwaukee man charged with assaulting firefighter

VIDEO: A Milwaukee man is charged with assaulting a firefighter who was putting out a fire in the man's home. The fire broke out on Thanksgiving. Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski says the man wanted to go back inside the burning home. The criminal complaint says he did get back inside after punching a firefighter.

Ten people displaced following a fire in downtown Tomah

The Tomah Fire Department has released new details on a structure fire that displaced ten people on Sunday. According to a release, firefighters were dispatched to Superior Avenue in Tomah for a report of a fire in the apartments above the Peking Chinese Restaurant at 7:51 A.M. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they reported seeing fire coming out of an exterior window.

Waukesha apartment fire leaves victim with life-threatening injuries

PHOTO: A fire on Arcadian and Oakland avenues on Thursday afternoon left a man with life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from Waukesha Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Purdy. At approximately 4:30 p.m., the Waukesha Communications Center heard from a caller who was driving by Arcadian and Oakland and saw smoke coming from the house on the corner.

Fire Strikes Superior Apartment Building, Lower-Level Bar

VIDEO: An apartment building fire broke out in Superior Thanksgiving morning, displacing tenants from all eight units. Wausau Fire Station hosts a Thanksgiving of their own for on call staff

Stevens Point Fire Department to conduct live-fire exercise

On Saturday, Nov. 25, the Stevens Point Fire Department will be conducting a live-fire training in a single-family residential structure, located at 5278 Highway HH, in the City of Stevens Point. Window washer hurt in downtown Madison fall

A window washer fell through a rooftop grate Monday morning while working in downtown Madison, according to the fire department. In a statement, the Madison Fire Department indicated the grate was dislodged, and the worker dropped about 15 feet before hitting the floor below. Firefighters and a medical team responded to the scene, in the 300 block of W.

Follow Up: Veterans Memorial Dedicated in Stevens Point

PHOTO: A new Veterans Memorial was dedicated in Stevens Point on Monday. The Guns N’ Hoses of Portage County helped commission the $90,000 stone memorial which features logos of five of the six branches of the armed forces. The center stone is flanked by two smaller stones that feature a kneeling firefighter and police officer, which organizer Traci Tauferner says is designed to extend the Guns N’ Hoses message of first responders supporting Vets beyond their annual September softball game.

Fire damages Fond du Lac home

PHOTO: At 12:53 AM Sunday, November 19, 2023, the Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue and City of Fond du Lac Police were dispatched to a house on fire at 120 east 2nd Street. Upon arrival, smoke and flames could be seen coming from the back of the house. Fire crews made a quick knock down of the flames and made entry to check for any extension to the attic space.
