Police: 1 hospitalized after Hartland apartment building fire

PHOTO: Tenants of a Hartland apartment building were evacuated Wednesday morning after a fire broke out. The Hartland fire and police departments were called to the fire, in the area of State Highway 16 and North Avenue, just after 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival, flames were seen coming from the building's roof.

Six displaced after house fire near 37th and Scott in Milwaukee

PHOTOS: Six people are displaced after a home caught fire near 37th and Scott Tuesday, March 30. It happened around 3 p.m. Battalion Chief Brian Gardener with the Milwaukee Fire Department said they received reports of people trapped after a fire on the front porch. However, after a rapid search of the residence, everyone involved was accounted for and self-evacuated.

No injuries reported after Chippewa Falls fire

PHOTOS: No injuries have been reported after a fire engulfed a Chippewa Falls residence. Crews were on scene of a fire just north of Eau Claire, on Debbie Street in Chippewa Falls. The Chippewa Fire District says they received a call at 2:07 p.m. stating that a homeowner was sleeping and woke up to smoke in her house.

No injuries in fire at assisted living facility in Winona

VIDEO: There are no injuries following a fire this morning at a Winona assisted living facility. Crews were called to Brookdale Senior Living around 7:30 Tuesday morning. When they arrived, the fire which started on the back patio, started spreading into the building’s attic. Winona MTU buses and Winona Health provided temporary shelter for the residents.

Milwaukee man suspected of setting fire along Hank Aaron State Trail in the Menomonee Valley

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A 48-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested, suspected of starting a grass fire Tuesday morning, March 30 under the 27th Street Viaduct in the Menomonee Valley. Police say he intentionally lit some of the prairie grass along the Hank Aaron State Trail before flames burned through parts of Three Bridges Park.

Milestone Anniversary For A Community Tragedy; The Great Peshtigo Fire

The City of Peshtigo began selling commemorative coins to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Great Peshtigo Fire. The new coin is now on sale. Collectors can buy them for 15-dollars apiece, and come in a black, velvet pouch. Peshtigo mayor, Cathi Malke, tells FOX 11 the idea of coins commemorating what’s known as “America’s Deadliest Forest Fire” isn’t unique.

Fire destroys home on Green Bay's east side; Three people required medical treatment

Superior Firefighters Train For High-Risk Rescues Involving Their Own

Superior firefighters got some real-world, high-risk training Monday to help rescue one of their own if they were to ever go down during a fire. Fake smoke was pumped into a 5,000-square-foot storage facility behind the new fire station on Tower Avenue. The drill included a two-person team searching through zero visibility for a fellow firefighter in distress with a depleting air pack.

La Crosse's Bee Xiong one of two Hmong firefighters in Wisconsin

There are only two Hmong firefighters in Wisconsin. One of them lives right here in La Crosse. “Everybody wants to live the American dream,” Batallion Chief Bee Xiong said. “I think that’s what my family and I are doing right now.” Xiong built 19 years and counting with the La Crosse Fire Department.

Ribbon Cutting For New Suamico Fire Department Headquarters

The Suamico Fire Department cut the ribbon on its new fire station on Sunday. The ceremony was private, for firefighters, families, and village staff. The new building replaces the old building right down Riverside Drive, which is about 60 years old. The new station has several upgrades, such as a decontamination hallway for firefighters to use to clean themselves after responding to fires.

Madison Fire Department: Improperly discarded smoking materials start house fire, displace 6 people

Six people are displaced after their home caught fire Sunday due to improperly discarded smoking materials, according to the Madison Fire Department. Around 2:30 p.m., Madison firefighters responded to the 1100 block of Starlight Drive for a structure fire. A resident of the home reported visible smoke and flames on an outside wall of the home.

Racine Fire Department: Apartment building fire displaces 10, no injuries

Ten residents of a Racine apartment building have been displaced by a Saturday morning fire. The Red Cross is providing assistance to those in need. The Racine Fire Department was called to the fire, near 8th and College, around 9 a.m. A total of 25 firefighters responded to the two-story, six-unit building.

Fire damages one unit in a multicomplex in Red Wing

The Fire Department quickly extinguished a fire in a three-apartment residence Friday, March 26, 2021. Dispatched at 6:55 p.m. to the 700 block of West Third Street, firefighters arrived in approximately two minutes and had the second-floor fire under control five minutes later, according to a new release.

Sun Prairie emergency services get federal grant

The City of Sun Prairie’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department, Police Department, and Fire Department are the recipients of a Homeland Security Exercise grant for $8,500. One man injured, pet cat killed in Baraboo house fire

One man was injured and a pet cat was killed after a fire broke out at a Baraboo home Thursday afternoon. Firefighters with the Baraboo Fire Department responded to 420 West Maple Street around 3:15 p.m. for an active structure fire. Authorities said in a Facebook post that crews found fire and heavy smoke coming from the rear of the house when they arrived.

Follow Up: La Crosse fire chief requests city to delay plans to demolish 80-year-old Fire Station No. 4

The project to demolish the 80-year-old Fire Station No. 4 on Gillette Street has been a waiting game. “We’ve been talking about replacing the old Station 4,” La Crosse Fire Department chief Ken Gilliam said. Those plans have been in the works since 2018. “I’m adjusting strategy now to try and get something done in 2021,” Gilliam said.

Chambers Island CERT members offer support to first responders

As we inch closer to the summer, many people will be going on vacations, even staying at summer homes and cabins. But what happens if there’s an emergency?
