Dallas Firefighters Battle 5-Alarm Apartment Fire

VIDEO: Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a large apartment fire at the Forest Cove Apartments, in the 9600 block of Forest Lane in Northeast Dallas Monday evening, March 29. Flames were shooting through the roof. The call came in around 5:30 p.m. as flames could be seen inside multiple apartment units.

Off-duty New Mexico firefighter comes to the rescue after a swarm of bees invade man's car

VIDEO: Imagine going to the grocery store, parking your car, getting your shopping done, checking out, loading your groceries and you’re about to drive away and then BAM… there’s a swarm of bees in your backseat. That’s what happened to a Las Cruces man this weekend. According to a post on the Las Cruces Fire Department’s Facebook page, firefighters were called out to a local Albertson’s grocery store after the man found a swarm of bees had taken up temporary residence in his backseat.

Authorities are investigating the bizarre circumstances surrounding a car fire which sparked a large blaze at a gas station in Baldwin Park early Monday morning. Man Reunites With New York Firefighter Who Pulled Him From Fatal Fire 23 Years Ago

Twenty-three years ago, a firefighter rushed into a burning home in Poughkeepsie with two young brothers inside. One of them died in the fire but the 3-year-old brother was rescued, and he reunited with the man who saved him over the weekend for the first time. Emergency responders in Pennsylvania honor lives lost working roadside and raise awareness of Move Over Law

Beginning April 27, new changes to Pennsylvania’s Move Over Law will take effect to prevent future deaths. CDC: 15% of U.S. Population Fully Vaccinated Against Coronavirus

IAFC Urges Congress to Pass Recently Introduced Next Generation 9-1-1 Legislation

On March 11, the House of Representatives’ Energy and Commerce Committee introduced the Next Generation 9-1-1 Act of 2021 as part of the LIFT America Act (H.R. 1848). Florida firefighters work on blaze that engulfed beach store

PHOTOS: Firefighters were on the scene of a structure fire at the Alvin's Island retail beach store in Destin on Thursday. Firefighters from multiple agencies were on the scene and a ladder truck with firefighters was inspecting the roof of the building. Michigan firefighters use pregnancy as tool to help recruit more women

But what’s even more uncommon is to have two female firefighters, in the same small department, expecting babies at around the same time. These magnificent machines powered Pennsylvania's early fire departments

PHOTOS: The Chambersburg Fire Department dates back to 1780. At the time, to extinguish fires there was a bucket brigade, a group of personnel that threw water on the flames. It often wasn't very effective, as fires usually already spread too much to be subdued. It was during the early 1800s that hand-drawn apparatus was being used to manually pump water through the fire hose, directed by the nozzle man.

Life saving 3-digit phone number for suicide prevention coming to southeastern North Carolina in April

A 3-digit phone number — 988 — for suicide prevention and mental health crisis assistance that the Federal Communications Commission approved for nationwide use in July 2020 is being rolled out in some parts of the country beginning April 24, 2021.
